If they were premade meatballs then they probably have a lot of bread crumbs as a filler. That could be what made you sick. Or if they are dry. Dry meat still causes me trouble and i'm two and a half years out...lol.

Just avoid them for awhile then try again, or make some homemade with no crumbs, crackers, or oatmeal in them and you should be ok.

Oh, also forgot but the sauce you used probably had sugar in it too. Most can/jar sauces do.

Protein does not cause dumping and even if there are some breadcrumbs as filmeatball cannot imagine there being enough to cause a problem, so unless they had a lot of sausage of some kind on the, it was probably not dumping, just something that did not agree with your pouch.

I have lost 21 pounds so far, and the meatballs were pre made, bu sauce. Might have been grease, or maybe too many but it was less then 3.... Well whatever it was I'm staying away... Tomorrow I'm gonna make chicken salad, so we shall see...

It was probably the fat content that made you sick.  Check the package to see how much fat is in them.  Early on I was much more sensitive to fat than sugar.  Not sure which is worse, the intestinal distress from too much fat or the dizziness, shakiness, nausea of the dumping from sugar...

I agree with Lora.  Meatballs should not cause dumping.  I can't imagine they had much sugar in them, and even if they were made from very fatty meat, if you only ate two and they were little, that shouldn't have been enough fat to cause dumping.

Sometimes certain things upset our stomachs, but it probably wasn't dumping.

At three weeks out, hamburger did not really agree with my pouch.  I didn't dump but it didn't sit well with me.  I waited a few more weeks before eating red meat.

dumping is when you eat sugar and the stomach cannot process the sugar, it goes into the intestines and the intestines rebel, therefore you get the sweats, shakes dizziness.  you don't always have BM's with dumping.   I am 1 1/2 years out and I only have BM's with dumping occasionally.  The rest of the time I just shake, get cold sweats, and feel like I am dying!!!

Some people are sensitive to carbs, and fat at first.  I was I dumped on potato soup and to this day I still get sick eating some fried foods.

if you didn't have sauce on the meatballs it could have been the fat content or just you body rebelling against meat.  At 17 days post op I would have been eating deli meat, chicken salad.  I was not allowed red meat for 3 months
