it's a puree food, but not a low fat food given the little protein in it. i didn't start eating it until i was on regular foods and i eat a low fat version with carrots for a snack.

Given the little protein???

You should really do some research about chickpeas/garbanzo beans before making posts like that!

a serving size of two tablespoons of hummus has 2 grams of protein and 3.5 grams of fat.

so my point was not that beans are a bad source of protein (as they are my MAIN source of protein as a recent vegetarian).   it's that for the fat content ratio and serving size they aren't the greatest.

but thanks for the advice....i guess?

You're most welcome.

The hummus I make has 7g protein and 3.4g fat for 2 tablespoons. I suppose not all hummus' are created equal

nope they're not.  the hummus i make is much better too because i don't use oil or tahini.  but for a premade one the stats aren't great.

and for someone so new post op, they are better off eating just puree beans, imho.  obvisiouly people can do as they wish, but i could only eat 1/4 cup at a time at the most, so puree beans were better for me then anything with additives.

i'm transitioning to a vegan diet, so i know more about beans then the average joe.  i didn't really appreciate your snarky remark to me considering that it seemed you only read half my sentence and missed i was talking about fat/protein ratio.  but hey, you are entitled to respond however you wish.  i was being sarcastic with the thanks though - i'm really comfortable with my bean knowledge base.
