I am wearing the playtex  18 hour bras, they are affordable and very comfortable.  Some have underwire and some do not.  I personally like the back smoothing ones.

goodluck on your quest.  :)

Most big towns have some kind of bra place that specializes in fitting people.  Often you can find them if you look for places that fit women after mastectomies.  I just went and ended up 4  inches smaller that I thought.  It is totally worth getting fittted.  Good luck!!

Watch for a bra fitting clinic at your local department store, or go to Nordstrom's (if nearby) or a high end lingerie shop. These places will have trained fitters who KNOW their merchandise. After my weight loss, I bought 2 good (= expensive) bras at Nordstrom, and learned a lot about what to look for on my next trip to TJ Maxx.

We just can't figure this out on our own!

I went to JC Penny and they fitted me. I was so far off in my sizing the lady was such a huge help! I think after  surgery I will be in a training bra so this won't be a problem!

Cannot recommend Nordstrom highly enough!  They really know their stuff, and will help you find not only the correct size, but the correct bra!  Bras that I liked to wear pre op no longer work-- I need a 'formed' cup now, as anything else is too saggy.
A good fitting bra will make all the difference in how you look and how clothes fit.  It is worth paying $$ for.  You only need two-- alternate wearing them, and wash after third wearing.

Nordstrom's, Nordstrom's, Nordstroms!  I cannot say it enough.  Well worth the extra money for a bra that fits and keeps the girls in place.  Expect to spend about $70 on one bra.  It seemed expensive to me at first, but nothing's too good for my girls

And as another poster mentioned, once you get one from there, shopping at other stores is much easier.  Here is what I learned from my fitting.   American women tend to select the wrong band size.  Having a smaller band provides more lift in the cups.  Who knew?!

I've been to Victoria's secret twice now and have had excellent experiences both times. I absolutely love their new "angel bra". Gives you 2 cup sizes "look" absolutely fabulous!!! Only downside is the largest bras they carry are 38DD. Loving my new look "boobs without a plastic surgeon"!!!!!

Try going to Victoria's Secret or someplace similar.  They do complimentary bra fittings and will work with you to find a style that fits your shape.  I just went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was impressed (a little broker for the price of the bra!!! LOL) with the service.  My 14 year old daughter also got her first bra fitting (I knew she was done with training bras) and the difference it made in her self-esteem (she is tiny-4'10"; 88lbs).  The 32A and the style they found for her made such a difference-not just in how she looks, but more importantly how she feels to be a young woman.  It was the topic of conversation in the car pool the next morning.
