Morning walk...FINALLY, I did it!!
I am just over 3 weeks post op and have had brief walks with my daughter on our court...very short distance...and it's been a little easier each time. This morning I decided to begin my exercise program. First, I had my yummy coffee protein drink.
It was a *****illy, but I put on my sweats, grabbed my stick to steer away any critters that may have bothered me along the way, and off I went! I walked for about 25 minutes in our neighborhood that has a few small inclines, but mostly even streets. Why hadn't I done this all along?? I felt so energized when I got home. My legs were a little shakey, but gosh, I've not done much of anything for weeks.
It helps that the sky was gorgeous and the neighborhood is filled with trees that are changing colors...brilliant colors!
I look forward to more mornings of walking.

Great job! I always thought people around here walked with sticks because they were using it for support until a man saw me walking without one and said I better be careful of critters. This Northern girl needs to learn the ways of the South! Working out releases endorphines that you will become addicted to in no time. You will begin to crave the exercise trust me!

Thank you!
There are so many women who walk in my neighborhood, but I've never thought about joining them...seemed like too much trouble to just get ready to walk. I often wondered why they carried sticks. Finally, one day I asked my neighbor. She told me that she has it to beat off the dogs that may bother her. She also said that if any men tried to "get her", she'd beat them off, too. I'm hoping that was a joke! lol I look forward to craving exercise! I'll trade my addiction to food for exercise? Well, maybe not to the same extreme.
