When were you allowed fruit?

It's been 3 weeks since my surgery (Jan 4) and I would kill for some fruit! Blended, I don't care, just something fresh tasting and not full of aspartame. My question is when did you get to move on to the blended, pureed part of your diet?

My surgery was the 14th and I get to start soft and puréed foods next Friday.

I made homemade apple sauce in the crockpot.  It was really good and depending on the apples you can add splenda.

Just peel your apples and put apple pie spices on them and cook them 6 to 8 hours.  Stir often to keep them cooking even.  If they are still two chunky blend them up.  It really helped with the fruit craving.

I went to pureed foods at 1 week and ate applesauce at that point. Some docs have restrictions on fruit so you will want to check your own doc's plan to be sure fruit is ok to try.

I wasn't allowed to have any kind of berries or fruit with seeds (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, etc****il 8 weeks out, even on the blended diet.  I was allowed to have bananas during the puree/soft food stages.  I was started on puree immediately after surgery, then moved on to soft foods at 3-4 weeks, as I could tolerate it.  SF Apple Sauce was the closest I got to fresh fruit before my diet advanced.  The good thing is - this stage flies by!

Ditto here.   Fruit has a lot of sugar so it is last on my list but I can have a few strawberries with yogurt now.  The seeds can be the problem until your incision heals.  I am fine with grapes, oranges, blueberries, etc. but in small quantities.

I am 6 weeks out & just today tried watermelon, cantaloupe & melon.  I only had a few pieces, but it went down well  & stayed down.  It was nice to have it.  I also tried salad this week too & did great.  It's so nice to try new things after 6 weeks!!
