Is malabsorption temporary?

The rate of malabsorption changes, but as I understand it, it is always there. Which is why we will ALWAYS take vitamins and be mindful of protein intake.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Ok, I'm going to try this again and see if the board shows it as MY response, LOL.
The caloric malabsorption is temporary (your body gradually increases the length of the existing villi and grows additional ones once it realizes part of it has been bypassed) but the vitamin malabsorption is permanent (certain vitamins are primarily absorbed in certain parts of the intestine, and the area we have bypassed is the area that primarily absorbs many vitamins).
