Seriously! Why no cookie? I have my thoughts on this, but I want the truth.

I was trying to give them a balanced healthy meal, considering at the time I was obese and didn't want them to become like me. But believe me they got home baked cookies and banana bread at home all the time. They wanted those small package Oreos or whatever else came in those snack size packages.
Same story with Mac and cheese, they wanted the boxed orange powder instead of the real cheese one I was willing to make for them, although I know my grandma would roll in her grave seeing me giving my kids Mac and cheese (total American invention).

Yes, I would have had fat kids If I had them. I am a terrible food pusher. I would have not put treats in their lunch either only because I would have eaten them before they hit the bag.

I've never tried Mac and cheese. They don't strike me as belonging together.

I had my pasta straight up. Butter and salt. But I've only had it once in the last 12 years now. It just sits like lead.

Happy VD peeps!

Spent a good chunk of my day learning all about the ins and outs of exercise planning. Not the healthy kind, the earthquake kind. Long day but super interesting!

Hubby was off today and a good friend of his was in town so they had a nice long guy's lunch. I think it was good for his soul

No meal planning here - day 8 of protein-palooza

QOTD: I brought lunch. I can distinctly remember being in 4th grade and telling my mom I needed two sandwiches in my lunch because I was starving. Here we are many decades later, and I'm getting an organ sliced in two and my intestines rerouted in a week!

Accountability: I'm forgetting to take my meds at night, but also my blood sugar is tanking around 12:30. Not sure what's up there! I'm sticking to the liquid diet but have had to add in some glucose tablets to get my blood sugar back up.

Have a lovely evening everyone!
