Topic: Finally Friday's Menu

Happy Friday!!! I just had to post this meme again because I love it. Wow is it windy here today. Driving into work my car was getting pulled all over the place. Not much planned for today at work except for making sure everything is set for the start of our outage on Monday. Not sure what we will be doing this weekend I think it will depend on the weather.

QOTD: What is a hidden talent you didn't know you had? Mine is apparently ******g people off with my honesty and logic. Yesterday someone posted on FB about stopping to get chickens out of the road. While they were doing that some butthead decided to swerve around them and honk. I had posted that I understood their concern for the chickens, but it was ultimately the responsibility of the chickens owners to keep them contained so they are not wandering in the roads. People jumped all over me and when I tried to explain that in CT there is a law regarding roaming dogs and livestock which I posted I was called a liar and an asshole who doesn't care about my community. Oh ok whatever people.

B: coffee and 1 bacon/egg breakfast wrap

L: fish sandwich

D: baked cod with creamed spinach

Have a great day and weekend everyone!!!

QOTD- My garden last year wasn't successful. Mostly due to the hot temps and not having a good irrigation system. I live in town but have some raised beds and will plant this year, and put in a drip mist system. In my last house I had a wonderful garden in was in a small area but I managed to grow enough tomatoes to can and other veggies.

I had a Zoom counseling meeting on Tuesday I found out that a lot of us are struggling. I try not to watch the news or doom scroll but sometimes I can't help it. I also went to the eye doctor on Tuesday. I had a corneal tear and my eye was still feeling like I had something in it. The tear is gone but I have dry eyes, so drops are my friends.

I had chickens for a few years, I loved my chickens. They were more like pets than anything. I couldn't keep them safe so after losing 2 of them to raccoons I gave the last one to my neighbor. And having a persistent hawk try to carry them off. My smart chicken hid in the tomato plants. I kept wondering why the hawk was still hanging around. I even sprayed him with a hose to try and get him to leave. I don't eat eggs so I used to give them to my roommate or other people. I just wanted the chickens because I liked them. I would not have them again because there are too many predators. I was watching TV the other night and a big raccoon wandered through the yard. It's not the first time I've seen it either. Raccoons, possums, squirrels and a neighbor caught a cougar on her camera. That's mostly what I see on my cameras are animals.

Beautiful sunny day today, it makes you believe in spring!

Have a great day everyone!

I have always lived in town, but we had a great garden when I was growing up and I remember the fresh tomatoes, corn, potatoes, green beans, peppers, peas, and brussel sprouts. I had gardens through the years, even if they were small. I am no longer able to do that and do miss the really fresh produce. If I were stronger I would use our community garden where they assign each person some land to plant and grow their own crops.

Good mornin y'all.

Nothing much happening today. We may go to a certain grocery store for some sale items. We might be getting some snow this weekend, Saturday. I'm over the cold and especially the snow. My body is over it!

I got sick yesterday from a sugar overdose. I went to Buckees with my peer support friend. I had two small samples of fudge and that's all it took. An hour later I was feeling like **** I'll never learn it seems. Still not feeling great but the iron supplement is keepin my stomach in a constant state of upset.

QOTD: I don't have much of a green thumb. If I tried animal raising I'd never eat 'em again. We're thinking of trying growing some veggies this year but not on a big scale.

B: eggs, sausage and cheese + coffee

L: burrito

D: probably chicken and a small salad

Good Morning! It's Friday-Eve but it definitely feels like it should be Friday. We are getting some rain too but I think we get a break after today for a few days. Today is my 21st wedding anniversary, but we celebrated our 25th dating anniversary last month so we don't have much planned.

QOTD: At this point in life I don't enjoy yardwork so I don't think I would. I like the fresh produce and maybe later in the future I'd enjoy it if I had the time.

Good morning gang. We got some rain last night and today it is windy, but 50 out. The temps are slowly getting warmer here in the Northeast.

A friend posted yesterday on FB that he was at a local feed store and couldn't figure out why there was a line out the door. Come to find out people were there to purchase chicks to raise their own chickens for eggs. Now don't get me wrong I think it's great that people want to grow their own stuff, but if you've never raised chicken before then you have no idea what oneself is getting into. It takes 6 months before they are at laying age and by the time that comes around, we will be heading into Fall which means the chicken will experience their first molt. Then Winter hits and chickens don't really lay much of any eggs due to the darker days. So basically, if someone gets chicks now, they will be raising them for a year before they get much of any eggs and that's if they don't lose them to predators or something else. These people will spend more money on trying to have chickens than they would for those $10 a dozen eggs in the store. But what do I know I've only been raising them for 20 years.

QOTD: If you had the land and the time would you grow your own food even if it is just fruits and vegetables? You all know I already do that, but we are always looking for a larger piece of land to be able to grow more stuff. We are hoping to add a few sheep to the homestead this year for both more milk and meat.

B: coffee and 2 hard boiled eggs with cauliflower rice hashbrowns

L: 1/2 Ruben sandwich

D: ground pork tacos

30 minutes on the treadmill

Have a great day everyone!!!!

I had moved to a new neighborhood and the first time I cut grass I smelled what I thought was a neighbor cooking tomato sauce. The garlic smell was wonderful and I was thinking that she might invite me over for a meal. The next time I cut the lawn I realized that there was wild garlic and onions growing in the grass and that is what I was smelling.

I like the four seasons and the nice laid back people in Ohio. Most of them will go out of their way to help their neighbors. No mountains or ocean, but there are beautiful green rolling hills and there is Lake Erie close by.

Good Morning! Today will be a busy day for sure, we are a little behind schedule because of some paperwork from other departments we need to process payroll, but that also means the day will fly by, trying to find the silver lining!

QOTD: I like that we are between ocean and mountain areas, so usually within a 2 Hour Dr. we can be at one or the other. Plus the agriculture is great for fresh fruits and vegetables.

Good mornin y'all.

Not much happening today. We're going to Sam's. I had a very off day yesterday. We did get groceries bu I came home and felt like **** I ended up taking three somewhat naps/rests. I feel ok this morning other than pain so hopefully it'll be a good day.

I'm hoping to get some stuff done today too, laundry and vacuuming. I should be getting a component of my nieces birthday present in the mail. I am excited for it! I got her a book that has a ton of tuts in it...lots of rings and some pliers.

QOTD: the sunsets and scenery. The people are not amongst my favorites. Drive around my area and you'll find out they aren't very nice. They are also nasty towards those that don't think the same.

B: pancake on a stick with sausage and coffee

L: ????

D: stuffed chicken breast and some veggie of some sort.
