My gosh my grandma would love, love, love those cartoons! She had one she kept in the early 70's of one of those old women in a mini skirt and her husband was saying something like 'Dangit, Ethel! I told you no mini skirts!' And of course her boobs were hanging out the front. She showed it to EVERYBODY who came to visit, lol. I miss that woman so much.
Yikes your rental situation sounds so stressful! I'm not a fan of being around big crowds but I would face them in New York to be able to go to Mood Fabrics or the Fabric District. But I hear you need to go there with several thousands of dollars because it makes a sewist want to buy all the pretties. And I'm sorry not to have been following the news in this cleaning frenzy, didn't even know about your flooding. How awful and the situation with the boat house neighbor too.
My weekend through to Tuesday morning was full of full-on stress cleaning and organizing just to be able to have a dear friend come visit. She'd never, ever be judgy about my mess but with three families' worth of furniture and belongings (inheritances) it looks like a hoarder house here and makes me ashamed. You'd never know I've been steadily decluttering bit by bit for the last three years.
So sorry you get such bad headaches, I did for decades and know how it disrupts your life. Don't miss those suckers now since my hysterectomy. Hope yours will ease up once you get a new apartment and finish up with the old house.
Monday's meals were:
B: my choc/protein/collagen shake
L: 10 cashews (does that count as the Guilty Confession?)
D: a egg-bite style concoction of Egg Beaters, 1 Amylu breakfast sausage, 1 lite cheese stick and 1/2 a zucchini sauteed in 1 tsp real butter.
S: a Magic Spoon mini bar that is similar to a Rice Krispie Treat, not bad and almost satisfied the habit of wanting something sweet in the evening. I can tell the Contrave isn't working as well because I didn't have even that amount of craving for months.
So now that there was a fabulous visit with my friend and my house hasn't recrappified itself yet and I can actually see my dining room table I'm ready to dig into a sewing marathon for new clothes. Not allowing myself to read but when I do the next up is a vintage book called 'The Window at the White Cat' by Mary Roberts Rinehart. Published in 1910. It will be fun to imagine everybody in clothing of that era that was so glorious on Downton Abbey. It seems to be a crime novel.
Going to try to get caught up here on the forum and keep caught up! Hope you had a great Tuesday.

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday,
It's rainy, the sky is cloudy, it's a brisk fall day. The trees in my backyard have just starting to change colors. Awesome. And it is treatment day. I'm looking forward to resting later today. Maybe I'll even be able to get some sleep.
QOTD- scented candles but I do have a couple of wax melts. I currently have a burning leaves scented candle.
B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut yogurt. Coffee.
L: ??? Prolly skip

Good mornin everyone. Sorry I miss3d yesterday,
I went to get a copy of my CT scan yesterday and we did some errands. November 10th can't get here soon enough. Some days are easier and some days are like pulling teeth. Today I see my psychiatric provider. I missed my last one due to the flu. He'll preach to me about everything, I'll shut down and everything will stay the same med wise. I've had an incredible amount of sadness lately. I just can't shake it. It's a daunting feeling but I'm unwilling to give in.
my mom is wanting to go out and about afterwards. I would rather come home. She'll win. I need to work on some jewelry for my boss for next years shows. So at least there is no rush or deadline for these. I'd like to pay off the dental bill by my birthday in February! So I'll be making a lot to help with that.
we've decided to do a joint gift for Christmas of a vacuum cleaner. We haven't decided on a budget but my guess would be 200 all together. This way my mom doesn't feel guilty and my feelings don't get hurt. She refused to learn how to shop online lol. I am easy to get things for if people would listen to who I am. I told her that money would be great this year if she wants to do more than the vacuum so I can pay off the dental stuff.
QOTD: not overly. I get headaches for most. I do prefer the wax over candles as having the amount of critters we do i'm afraid the house would burn down.
B: breakfast pita and coffee
L: ????
D: undecided as well
Happy Hump Day Gang!! I woke up feeling much better this morning. Not sure what was going on the other day. I did have my annual eye exam and my right eye is the same and my left eye had a slight variance. Everything else checked out OK.
Last two things I have to do is a dental appointment and my annual physical. We have two tours today at work and not much else going on that I'm aware of.
QOTD: Do you like scented candles or scented waxes to burn? Since we can't have a lite flame in the office I have a small wax melter. Every time someone comes in the office they ask me what I'm baking. Like really does it look like have an oven in the office to bake pies? LOL
B: Coffee and protein shake
L: Last of the chili
D: roasted turkey, stuffing and gravy
Hitting the Y tonight for some weight training.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!!
Good morning all and Happy Tuesday,
Hope everyone had a good extended weekend. My weekend saw book club, blue hair bingo with a new friend, trip to the South side for rib tips and the beach, where I ate with the seagulls, lunch with Mom-1st time in a month+, met with sponsee, dog park x2, and played spades.
QOTD- Haunted houses are great. I'm going with that same new friend on the 24th and looking forward to it. When I was using a cane a couple years back, I was assured it was safe to visit a haunted house. Within a few feet of entering, I was immediately knocked down by an overzealous actor. I'm looking forward to a return visit now that my balance is much better and I'm back on two feet.
B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, tangerine.
L: leftover meaty skillet. Broccoli.
D: burrito in a bowl. Salad, jicama.
Dessert: cotton candy grapes.
HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 208 lbs 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

Also switching to tea ( which speeds Ur metabolism mildly and helps burn fat ) vs drinking coffee slowly takes n keeps off 10-15 lbs on average .
I keep thinking of Asian cultures - theyre totally ( fresh ) food centric ... they drink tea vs water because the water isnt safe ....
AND EVERYONE'S SKINNY !!!!
Ive gone on a hayride but never a haunted house ! ( Tell the truth my own shadow makes me jump ten feet lol!

are two alternative apts both in Manhattan.
The second one is within steps of Riverside Park and a graveyard ! Yep a historic graveyard though ... beautifully landscaped and statued .
Wealthy Victorian families apparently used to enjoy picnicking with their dead relatives ... curiously making some of the graveyards in NYC actual tourist and tour destinations ! Go figure - this is one of them so the air here is OUTSTANDING and clean .
Unfortunately the apartment and terrace are small compared to the Bronx ( photos make the rooms look way bigger) . The terrace in particular is only 27x 20 feet if I remember correctly but it is glass- fenced and has a beautiful water view .
I had my heart set on the Bronx ( and also these two very same Manhattan apartments LAST year ) but the persistent health issues here truly scare me .
Imagine waking up coughing every day - opening windows in your sleep at nite cuz U cant breathe ? headache all day after none in 20 years ?
Gonna see where that gosh darn waste burning plant is located now .
I did do a little research - the medical waste burning was stopped five years ago ( the protests and community outrage DID help actually) and parks are planned to the waterfront right in front of me
Good Tuesday Morning Gang. I woke up feeling rather odd. My ears feel plugged, my left shoulder is aching, and I just feel all around crummy. Not sure if I did something Saturday that pulled my shoulder combined with the rainy, chilly weather the last couple of days or what. I have to call my PCP to reschedule my physical they called and had to cancel today, so I'll see if I can maybe get in for a wellness checkup.
The two tours we had yesterday at work went well. The first one had 15ppl and the second one had 9ppl. Nothing else going on at work except for post outage cleanup.
QOTD: Who here likes going to haunted houses or haunted hayrides? Years ago, there used to be a place in MA called Spooky World. I had gone a few times and yes, I did get scared in some of the parts of it. I think they may have moved to New Hampshire. I don't go to places like that anymore only because if I had to actually run away from something it's just not going to happen. LOL
B: just a protein shake
L: bok choy soup
D: fried fish and shrimp
Not sure if we will be going to the Y tonight or not. We'll see how I feel.
Have a great day everyone!!!
