So good to see you here! Also glad to hear you had a great vacation!

Missing you JB! Hope you are ok!
well today started off with our power blinking. So I've been up since 3. Not far from when I usually wake up though.
Today we are supposed to have a high of 75 after 102 yesterday. Supposed to be back up to 100 tomorrow or the next day. Fun fun...
Didnt make it far into the soccer games. The first one was forfeited by the other team due to lack of players. We tried to wait but it was just to damn hot. I literally got so hot I almost threw up on the way home. I hate to feel like the heel but it was just too too hot. Even with cold water and umbrellas. Thankfully that's over.
my brothers MIL decided to leave next weekend instead of this weekend. So we have the kids only 3 days this week. I agree with those that responded yesterday. To make a long story short my mom is afraid they'll take the kids away from seeing her. Only because of something that happened with my grandparents and an aunt. It's a hot mess but it's something my moms seen happen and she lives for these kids so I have to be careful in how or what I say. My brother would never do that, she knows it too but it's still a fear.
Hoping to get a walk in this morning. We might get some rain so it'll depend on that.
QOTD: what is your favorite non food pick me up?
pictures of cats! Making something with chainmaille. Just being creative helps.
Accountability yesterday: pretty decent overall. I did have a serving of popcorn so the carbs were higher than I'd like but still below 50.
B: JUST egg, 1 tbs blue cheese, chicken sausage and coffee
L: 1.5 oz boneless beef rib and 1 weenie
D: not sure on this yet, maybe more ribs but may add some riced cauliflower
S: cheese sticks, 1 tbs natural peanut butter and ???

Thanks! Yes the estimates are really just guesstimates. My brother and mom took the ancestry DNA tests. It's really interesting. Some of our earliest ancestry populations in the US according to ancestry is in the Appalachian areas. I've found some family that's really interesting and then some who were totally freaky. They'd contact me then flake out. So strange people can be!
I've used that free one for my brother and mom...I tried with my data from 23andMe but they couldn't process it for some reason. I'll have to give it another try, thanks for the reminder!

Good Sunday mornin menu friends. Hope that you're all having a great weekend.
Today and the next month will be somewhat busy. We will have the kids a minimum of 4 days a week for 3 weeks. Two of those weeks will be 5 days a week. We are not exactly happy with this. We were told, not asked. I'll never get the lack of consideration from so many these days...including my brother and SIL. It blows my mind. They feel as if they are owed stuff...the sense of entitlement is huge with so many these days.
I'll step off my soap box...LOL
It's supposed to be 100+ today and we have to go to soccer games. Oh joy of all joys. I personally think they shouldn't play in that heat but what do I know. It is at least the last games of this season.
QOTD: What is something you're looking forward to in the not so distant future?
For me I'm looking forward to about 3 weeks from now. My brother and his family are taking a vacation to NM so we'll have some time away from them. I know that could sound bad but alas it is what it is...LOL
Accountability for yesterday. Well I had more carbs than I had planned on, 32 total. It was the cabbage but it is gone so that's a plus. I also had to much cheese.
B: JUST egg, chicken sausage, 1tbs blue cheese and coffee
L: Not sure on this yet - will update later
D: 2 oz boneless beef ribs and 1 weenie
S: cheese stick, roasted seaweed and something yet to be determined

Sorry about all the question marks...had to edit it and my iPad throws a fit!

/\ if only I could do that this weekend! LOL
It looks to be a busy one. Today we have a little running around to do about town. Then tomorrow the last hockey games of the season are happening! Yay! Except it?s supposed to be in the mid to upper 90?s tomorrow and it?s just going to be uncomfortable. BUT it?s the last games. It?ll take about two hours since the girls games are at the same time (we switch at half time).
my lower carb thing is going well. I went 2 over the 25 I set out to be below but I?m not going to beat myself up about it. Calorie wise it was decent. The egg roll in a bowl(made in my instant pot) was so good. Will be having more of that today. I?m down 3 pounds in two days! I?ll for sure take it.
QOTD: Do you know much or research any about your ancestry?
I was able to participate in a study with 23andMe and I got a full dna test for free. It had to do with mental health stuff. I had always been in to ancestry though. I love it! It?s weird though. I am linked to a certified Native American through DNA but it doesn?t show up on my dna ethnicity report. Of course it is rather far back in my lines so maybe a more comprehensive test would show it. Mine shows I?m 100% European. Mostly Scottish, Irish and English. I also have some Scandinavian and German/French. I love the mystery aspect of it.
B: JUST egg, chicken sausage 1 tbs shredded cheese and coffee
L: egg roll in a bowl
D: egg roll in a bowl?again lol
S: cheese sticks, bacon jerky or biltong
Have a great one everyone! Here is a picture of my Skippy Lou, she was begging for petting?which she of course got.

There are certain things I can and cannot do. Sitting is hard for extended time periods and I can't mow or ride my stationary bike without paying a hefty price. Walking can be hard for me too...it really just depends. My doctor said that I might have permanent nerve issues with my sciatic nerve stuff.

on 6/18/21 4:21 pm
I have a bridge canon camera as my point and shoot. I also have a less expensive DSLR in the canon serious. My dream is to have a mark camera...that may be a pipe dream! LOL. That or a mirror less system. Some day I might be able to do it but it's going to be a while.
I love my bridge camera. I like that it has all the stuff I need most of the time. I shoot in raw on my DSLR so it's something you have to edit...which I secretly love to do!

I'm glad that awesomeness wasn't in front of me or I would of ate sooo much of it. It looks delicious!

Beautiful photos and thanks! I love macro work...it's just so much fun. I really like that last one!
the best camera purchase I ever made was a macro lens. I was only able to afford a "good" one after winning a cash prize at the area fair. I have a canon system. My back issues have prevented me from taking a lot of photos with big camera so I use my point and shoot a lot. It's really a good one. I miss my other camera though?

My stimulator is with abbot too. I don't understand how it worked so well in the trial and not really much at all now. I'm so sorry your DH is dealing with this as well. I don't know about him...I'm assuming it's the same with him...I just want to live a freaking normal life! I want to be more active. I have had it reprogrammed once and I guess in a bit will get it done again. It really is a let down.

You know, I've never had lobster before. I'm pretty sure I'd like it though.
now that I think of it candy would've been on my list too.

That's a huge HUGE no for me on the snake. No thank you! lol
The only wild creatures we really get is possums, skunks, raccoons and occasionally a coyote. Thankful for no bears around here!

on 6/18/21 6:53 am
Oh no on your mouth! I hope it starts getting better ASAP! That just stinks.
it looks like y'all were having fun and that's what counts! I can dance but it ain't pretty LOL

I saw this morning and almost woke up my mom laughing. Hope it brings a smile to your face and maybe even a chuckle!

Great news JB! Such great news! Made me happy to hear that this morning.
Yesterday went well food wise for the most part. I stuck to under 25 carbs...which for me is a huge deal. I may of had to many pork rinds though but still the calories were not to bad. Over all I'm thrilled with it. My blood sugar seems to have settled down. It's been rather high for a period of about 4 days...I was also having hot flashes. I can't figure out what in the heck the issue was! I've read some people had elevated numbers after the vaccine but it was usually the 48 hours after. I dunno...maybe it was a delayed reaction like my arm did with the first one.
Not much planned today. My mom ordered a pool earlier this week. It's just one of those inflated top rings so it's only 30 inches deep. We have to find some sand somewhere. So we'll likely be heading to Lowes today. We also need another tarp. I have to tell you I am excited! I'm hoping it'll help with my legs and back. I know it won't take it away but maybe it'll help me relax. I so wish we could get a big spa...LOL. I'd be in it every day.
QOTD: that's a hard one for me. I never really liked toys much. The only barbies I ever had were attached to firecrackers and met a grizzly end. I also don't remember a lot of things in my childhood. Probably if I had to guess it'd be craft stuff! I liked it even then.
B: JUST egg, chicken sausage, shredded cheese and coffee
L: shredded chicken breast and a cheese stick
D: egg roll in a bowl made with 96% ground beef
S: cheese stick, chicken and maybe a protein shake
I finished my bracelet except for a permanent clasp. Still hunting for a unique one. I've seen a few I like. So here is a better pic of it and one of the thing 1 and 2.

I'm bipolar so i'm on a bevy of meds. With both my surgeries I had some issues. I had to switch things around a lot and I'm still fighting to find the exact routine of meds that'll work for me.
my advice is to just take as it comes. Fight for what you feel you need. If you feel you need a change jump on it as quick as possible.

Good morning menu friends!
Keeping up the prayers for your family JB, esp your mom. I'm glad you're able to take the time off to be there for your dad.
So yesterday was pretty much a rollercoaster of emotions. It ended up being ok. I was able to talk to the nurse at the mental health clinic and she got my antidepressant dosage fixed and I'll start that today. So relieved to get that going. My appointment yesterday was moved to august so I freaked out a bit.
I've decided to do as low carb for me as possible. Push the meats/protein when I'm hungry. I have some cheese sticks and i'm hoping to get to Sam's for some rotisserie chicken.
QOTD: most of you know it's my chainmaille stuff. It really helps me clear my head sometimes. I came up with a new design just the other day using glass navettes that's mounted in a sew on mounting. I'll hopefully fini**** today and I'll have proper pics tomorrow. I'll include one of the small segment from yesterday. It's very close to being finished. I just need to figure out a clasp I like for it.
I used to make books/journals too. Probably not the best but I enjoyed hand binding them. Sadly I haven't done that in YEARS and have no pics but it was such a fun thing to do.
B: JUST egg, chicken sausage, Mexican melting cheese and creamer
L: ground fajita seasoned chicken breast and some onion...this may end up being dinner and the shake for lunch...we'll see
D: PP shake
S: cheese sticks, some of the ground chicken and ???

on 6/16/21 11:05 am
Well the psychiatrist was rescheduled to August. I have a call into the nurse line about the Effexor. I'm hoping I get a call back soon. I'm a tad bit freaked out!

on 6/16/21 11:01 am
Thank you so much for that! I didn't mean here in particular. In fact I've only had one "off" experience here when I felt someone was off color with me. No one that even post anymore here that I know of. I have always felt supported here.
I had someone I've been friends with for almost 20 years tell another friend that she didn't understand why I was sad. The same friend I went to my first concert with that left me alone at the end of said concert with what felt like millions of people were walking by. I literally stood inside an evergreen tree. My severe social anxiety was out of control at the moment and my safe person left...felt like I was dying. She sent me a meme yesterday that said choose happiness. it had me feeling sad I guess.
Y'all are fabulous!
