Let us know how the grocery shopping was. I drove by the store at 6:30 this morning and the parking lot was full.

Good morning, everybody!

You know how you kind of know things but they aren't at the forefront of your mind? I just realized this morning that my niece is a nurse in the Seattle area - basically working in the front line of the epidemic. She is about 25, so I am sure she will be fine, but I'm still worried about her. I guess it will be quite an experience for her to tell about.

Things seem to be changing quickly around here. Both boys will be off from school until April 6th. They don't seem to feel strongly about it either way. They are going to continue to have meals available for kids who need them, which I was happy to see. My work has gone to a stance of encouraging people to stay home and and telecommute. DD was already going to college remotely until April 6th. Both races, and dueling piano night are cancelled, Mass is cancelled tomorrow.

Marilyn is still in Arizona playing tennis, but I think that some of the ladies are getting anxious to return home. Or so they say:

Today I have to do a little cleaning, go to the gym and then I am going to go pick up my shirt from the 5-K that was cancelled today.

QOTD: I spend a great deal of time trying to make the remote work. I push and push and usually have to set it down once and come back to it. Sometimes I do may short pushes, sometimes long ones. Sometimes the volume increases dramatically while I am trying to turn the TV off.

Breakfast: ham and cottage cheese

snack: protein bar

lunch:maybe no-carb jambalaya

snack: nuts

Dinner:tenderloin

Have a great day, all!

We got an email that they would try to reschedule and that we could still pick up our Tee-shirts. Which, I think is a fancy way of saying no refunds.

Let me know when you are safely home recuperating.

We are. The flavors in those boxes aren't my favorites, but maybe I will buy some anyways. I don't want to be stumbling around Illinois searching for Costa Rican Clementine if everything is out of stock.

I think there is a new cherry flavor also. I liked it.

Good morning, everybody!

Last summer, Jen asked everybody to post what their personal challenge was for July. I posted that I would try and solve double under jumprope, which I flubbed. Well, I am finally making some progress towards my goal. With the (somewhat) warmer weather, I have been back to the garage to practice and I'm starting to get some with semi-regularity. At this point, I am still at the stage of trying to mix them in with regular jumprope, so its usually like single, single, double, single, single, double, single, single, hit myself in the back of the head with the wire jumprope. But before this week, I had never been able to do a double and then get back to a rhythm. Mainly because I donkey kicked.

My learnings, thus far:

1) use a short, heavy rope

2) don't have to jump higher (i.e. don't donkey kick), just spin faster

3) Keep my hands close to my body - don't let them wander out to the side and hit myself in the head with the rope

4) Don't drop my wrists down towards the ground

I got the boys off to school. They said that they think this may be there last day at school for awhile, based on rumors that they had been hearing yesterday. Marilyn is having a good time in Arizona, although rainy weather has been keeping them off the tennis courts. They ran into the Cubs players at lunch and spent a lot of time in the hot tub drinking wine from the looks of it.

My 8-K in two weeks is now cancelled also. We still have the hotel reservation, and will plan a weekend in the city, I guess.

I did a little inventory, and it doesn't look like we have a lot of food in the house. Marilyn may want to stock up a little when she returns, I'm not sure. If she does, I will go with her and brave the crowds. We do have our meds and toilet paper.

QOTD: Probably Bai water. I never went back to caffeinated after surgery, so while I really like coffee, I'm OK with missing.

Breakfast: Chaffle

Snack: Protein bar

lunch: salad

snack: nuts

Dinner: Pizza

Have a great day, all!

Good morning, everybody!

I managed to get the boys out of bed and off to school on time. They aren't that cheerful in the morning, and there is a protracted process of preliminary notifications that is time to get up, second reminder, etc. But everybody is off to school with a lunch for the day.

I was supposed to run a 5-K this weekend but it got cancelled because of COVID-19. I am scheduled to run an 8-K next weekend in Chicago, but that hasn't been cancelled yet. We actually got a hotel room in the city for the race. I am kind of torn about whether I want it to go on or not, without having the 5-K to warm up with. I guess the smart thing is just to do 5-K on my own this weekend and see how it feels.

DD got word that she should spend an extra week on Spring Break and then will do online classes for two weeks when she returns. This is her last semester and only 9 credits, so she isn't really worried about the school work, but is disappointed not to be able to spend all of her last semester with her friends.

Today, I have a doctors appointment that may require bloodwork, so I am fasting for that.

QOTD: I know a few. I don't think that I enjoy phones as much as other people do. For example, my daughter is horrified that I don't have her saved as a profile my phone (favorites or friends, I think?). I only have one phone for work and personal and every time I have it in my hands I feel like I am working. There will always be an email that needs to be answered.

Breakfast: none

Snack: protein bar after bloodwork

Lunch: Tenderloin

Snack: Pudding

Dinner: tenderloin

Have a great day, all!

Good morning, everybody!

JB, that drink cozy is super cute. I guess that I am glad you are back to your normal level of stress although I suspect that is still high.

Marilyn's flight is delayed, so she is not leaving until mid morning. I have to get my oldest son off to school, but she can take my youngest in. I'm not sure if my oldest son is really sick or if this is Senioritis, but he only has two months of school left. I actually have a ton of calls to do between taking the boys to and from school.

There is also a tenderloin that I need to cook - Marilyn will have to show me what to do before she heads off to work.

QOTD: About a 3. Physically, part of me just wants to get the illness and get it over with. It really doesn't sound that serious for healthy people. I am worried about the hourly workers who will not be able to work due to closings, etc. And trying not to look at my brokerage statements, ugh.

Good morning, everybody!

I thought I had a good day accountability wise, but the scale is up this morning. Maybe because I ate dinner late? Marilyn is heading out to another ladies tennis vacation on Wednesday, so I will be trying to hold down the fort with the boys while she is gone. Last time that she was away, my youngest took it upon himself to clean the kitchen, which I truly appreciated.

Yesterday, I managed to leave the house without either my phone or my computer. Quite a feat. I was able to get a backup loaner to use my email during the day.

Chrissy was right about the scrolling. I'm editing away, now.

QOTD: Not a strength here. If its a mildly bad day, usually Marilyn will be able to cheer me up. Worse days, I tend to lay in bed at night stewing (Not recommending that as an approach).

Breakfast: ham and cottage cheese

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Ahi tuna salad

snack: orange

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all!

Also, none of my likes show up on peoples feeds. And I have no likes on my mailbox. Although that may be just a personality flaw.

Good morning, everybody!

It's dark and rainy here in Chicago. But not on my screen because I feel like I am staring into the sun. What does everybody else think of the new OH format? It's so bright, and the printing is so big, that I feel like I'm in Marco Island. I need a white patent leather belt and a 5:00 Dinner special to go with this new format.

I had a good day for accountability yesterday after two poor days in a row, so I'm looking to continue that today.

For our 30th anniversary, I was planning to take Marilyn to Wimbleton and today we were planning to get our tickets, but now I am getting nervous about the Coronavirus. Mainly because they just cancelled a tennis tournament in Arizona last night. I am not so much worried about catching the virus as in losing all of my money if the tournament is cancelled. So we are going to need to understand very clearly what the cancellation policy is before we commit to buying our tickets.

QOTD: Frozen Yogurt. I've been out of Massachusetts for 22 years and still drink Dunkin Donuts every morning. But some days it really isn't very good.

Breakfast: Ham, glorious Ham

Lunch: salad with chicken

Snack: Nuts

Dinner: Chili

Good morning, Trish!

Sorry to hear about your cousin.

Yes, it's been super quiet this weekend. Hopefully, that's because the rest of the country was getting beautiful spring weather. It was freezing in Chicago yesterday.

Not a good eating day for me yesterday either. I need to dial it back in today, certainly. Not much on the agenda for this afternoon. I need to do my tax extensions and the financial statement for the organization that I serve on the Board of. Other than that, stop eating a protein bar every time that I walk by the pantry.

Good morning, everybody!

I woke up at 3:00 this morning and laid in bed for 57 minutes. I refused to get out of bed until at least 4:00. Finally at 3:57, I fell asleep until 6:30. I call that a win.

I worked in downtown Boston for ten years, but never learned any cheap parking spots or tricks. Just paid a bunch.

Someone that works for me has a similar parking story. In her case, I think the guy got out of his car to yell at her and then had a change of heart and offered to park it for her.
