Had my follow up with the dr today. Im about 8 1/2 mos out and have lost 135 lbs. I'm very pleased with my results and love love love my sleeve! Things have slowed a little these last few weeks with some menu experimentation and business travel, but I'm going to adjust my diet (I'm currently at 400-600 calories a day, less than 30 g fat and 20 g carb a day) and ramp up the exercise...Im 38 lbs away from goal and I want to hit it by my 1 year surgiversary! Dr. says I should be able to do it! Anything more than 38 lbs lost is icing on the cake - sugar free, fat free, carb free icing of course!

Wow - great job!!!!!!  You've done well!

I must say - your calorie range seems very low.  Are you planning to increase it as part of your diet adjustment?

The center I go to has a very strict plan, which calls for low calories until we reach maintenance. I've been on 400-600 calories since I got off mushies in January. Doc said if I can stay in the 400-600 calorie range without snacking, then go for it to get to goal.

Does your doctor recommend eating 400-600 cal @ 8.5 mo? I'm just curious.

The center I go to has a pretty strict plan. They have had me on 400-600 calories since I got off mushies in Jan. Doc said if I can continue the 400-600 cal plan for the next few months, I'll get to goal before end of year. Im all for it! I give myself a little latitude when Im on vacation or if Im feeling  a little deprived... doesn't happen too often thank goodness. I am learning a lot about my body - when specifically my sleeve feels tighter (am) and when I tend to get head hunger (late nights)..what foods to eat when to maximize the weight loss etc. Being so careful with calories has allowed me to notice these facts which has helped me deal with the issues. Best of luck!

You are doing great!

How are you doing with protein at that calorie range?  Could you give an example of a typical day of eating, please?
