Two Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet - Bathroom issues???

 Hi - Anyone have issues 'going to the bathroom' during the 2-week pre-op liquid diet?  I am really struggling and not sure if I can/should take anything to help me go !!!  HELP !

I would suggest doing some kind of bowel cleanse (dr approved of course) because you do not want to be straining post op.

I didnt go for 7 days AFTER surgery - so take care of it while you can!

Suppository/enema might give you immediate relief. Or a laxative if you can tolerate them.

i am in my 5th day of pre op diet and i am having issues too. i have been taking gas x for the gas issue but plan to call the doctor if i do not "go" soon.

I had the opposite problem when I did my pre-op diet - I had to run to the bathroom a few times if you know what I mean!! Post op I didn't go until 5 days after surgery.

I would add benefiber to your diet every day.  It will help go but not MAKE you go.

 My doctor's office recommends Milk of Magnesia two days before surgery.
