Try Truvia or something. Its supposed to be healthier or something - more natural. I dont care for it but thats just me.

I still use sugar, just not nearly as much as I used to.  I'm intolerant to artificial sweetners, which is one of the reasons my surgeon decided the VSG would be better than RNY for me

I bought a store brand (Kroger) bag of "zero calorie baking sweetener", or Xylitol, and it's worked pretty well for me. I don't like the taste of artiicial sweetener and this tastes like real sugar to me.  It dissolves fast, which is weird, and you don't use very much at all.
Just a thought.

When I need it, I use equal. I haven't tried truvia but will give it a go. I cant stand splenda or sweet n low. I've gotten seed to only cream in my coffee but haven't had any since surgery. Still trying to get my protein in.

I use stevia, which is not artificial.  But, for me anyway it's uses are limited.  I've only been able to use it in liquids, nothing baked.  Try vanilla cream stevia, or other flavors, or just plain.  It rocks the smoothies, tea, or coffee.  After surgery I needed much less.  I notice I can't tolerate too sweet tatste.

If I want sugar, I use sugar. Period. I found that sweetners trigger my migranes, especially Splenda. I am not a big coffee drinker but when I do drink it I want it really sweet. On those rare occasions I use a combo of sugar and sacrine (pink pack). But over all I have found that my tolerance for sugar and salt has changed and I don't use as much of either as I did before.
