3.5 years out with a 48f yes that's right one of the biggest out there and no problem losing I reached goal in 8 months below goal at one year a total of 101 lbs I am 5'6 and 135 lbs I have maintained ever since goal easily. My surgeon said everyone is different some have longer stomachs than others so I say don't even think about it follow the rules and you will have awesome results. Best wishes to you

I never thought about the size before... I guess I just thought 85% was 85%. LOL I guess like everything else, everyones stomach is a different size. I just looked on my op report and I have a 32f and I'm 5'4".

my surgeon says he uses a 40Fr and has great results, but I will be  asking him if he can use a 36 atleast on me as I have 200lbs to lose and would rather deal with sum nausea and lose quicker than not... I will ask him to really go as small as he's comfortable with once he gets in there, but I'm sure no matter what it can't be worse than the big'ol stomach I got in there now... LOL

Your doctor probably does the size he is comfortable with, but just this to say, not EVERYONE with a smaller bougie'd sleeve has nausea, or food issues, or acid issues, or any issues. Not everyone with a larger bougie'd sleeve does NOT.

Those things are going to happen if they are going to happen, its a die toss, like if you will lose shoe sizes or if you will lose noticeable amounts of hair.

I get all that, and everyone has their individual set of factors they bring to the table with them... but I also get the physiology of it... it makes sense to me that, without any of the other things factoring in, ur more at risk for nausea/reflux issues, the smalller u go... that said, because of all those other factors... I know there is no way to judge pre-op whether one will have those issues post-op... and I've seen ppl here with large and small with nausea issues and without... I just feel like for me... even IF there is a greater risk of reflux/nausea it's worth the risk to me...

In my last pre op appt I asked about size. He told me he uses a 36F but that should not be important to me. He feels that as long as I do my part the 32 - 40 will do its part.
