I really like the Zone Perfect mint protein bars. They have 14 grams of protein, 14 sugars and 200 calories. Can I have the higher sugar if I'm getting in 14 proteins? I want to eat it as a breakfast food but I don't know if that's a good idea. What do you think? Do you know of a better protein bar?

What does your doctor's plan call for? 14 grams of carbs isn't terrible, but you'd have to make sure you can fit those numbers into your daily routine without throwing off your totals.

Although I just reread your OP... is it 14 carbs or 14 sugars? If that's just sugar, how many total carbs?

Try the Eat Good! Look Great! ones... 20g protein, 16 carbs (a little high but my plan allows for 40g a day and I dont get many carbs in a protein shake and I am working out 6 days a week) with only 2g of sugar and they taste like candy bars :D

Where can you find the "Eat Good! Look Great!" bars. Currently I do the Premier Shakes because I am not tired of them yet. But need an emergency backup since I work in an emergency dept- long shifts and unpredictable if meal break or not. Thanks

Never mind I found them actually bought some last night from Krogers. I knew it as Pure Protein Revolution and when I looked it had Eat Good! Look Great! In  the corner small print.

Try NuGo SmarteCarb bars.  More protein for less calories.  Always try to get as close to 20g of protein in each meal as you can with as few calories.  I would not eat 200 calories for only 14 g od Protein.

Better yet, have a cup of greek yogurt with a zero calorie flavoring added for 23 g of protein and 130 calories.

I have to eat about 1000 calories a day due to working out for an average of an hour a day. I don't eat a lot of food but I do 3 protein shakes (70g protein) and 2 of the protein bars a day. That only ends up bringing me to about 850 to 900 calories a day so having 200 calories in a protein bar is not a problem. I'm keeping my carbs to under 50g a day and sugars are less than 15g a day even with the protein bars and shakes so its working well for me and as long as the weight continues to fall off I am happy :D

Its ok in a pinch but I would never make it my go to breakfast.  This is currently my breakfast in a cup of half caf/half decaf and a shot of chocolate SF Torani syrup, works for good for me, I get 30 gram of protein for 160 calories, leave me 40 calories for something extra at lunch or dinner and I double my proteins right out of the gate, otherwise good suggestions above so I will leave it at that....

I think Quest bars have the best stats.  But I'm don't eat them very often.  They are triggery for me, and I can't keep them around the house.  I do a protein supplement in my morning coffee for breakfast - Syntrax Nectar Chocolate Truffle with some almond milk and coffee.  Yum.

Where is the best place to buy the Quest bars?  Most places seem to sell them for about $30 for 12, and that sounds high to me.  I'd love to try them, though!
