Learned something about myself today.....
So when we moved into our house everything in the backyard was perfect, I kept it up for a few summers b/c it was easy just a little trim here and there. Then I found a million excuses as to why I could not do it anymore: I don't like bugs, I don't like getting dirty, its too hot, it's too cold.
What I learned today is that those really WHERE excuses b/c I was just too fat to do it all. Today I worked in the muck and the bugs and the heat, I was literally filthy with pond scum in my hair, picking up frogs and scooping up tadpoles and snails with my bare hands, and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. It was hard work but it felt good and I am not even worn out, I am looking forward to a summer of reclaiming my yard and enjoying it instead of being ashamed to have people over.

You would think with all the working out I do I would not hurt today, but damn my thighs are on fire from all the squats. Feels good though, and I am ready to get back out there today.
I promised myself that if I finish the pond today I will treat myself to new fish (I miss my fish!), so I am motivated!

This is SO encouraging because I REALLY want to start gardening but have always had those excuses too!! Maybe this will become my new hobby :) I have been trying to work with indoor plants for a while now and really enjoy it :)

I would be a fool not to be dedicated to him, he treats me good and won't take my crap LOL He is a keeper.
I have to say, and you might be disappointed, that the Roller Derby is OUT :( I went and watched one of their practices and the risk of injury is just too high. As much as I would love to do it, I know that my running and exercise is key to keeping my weight off, and any serious injury to my legs or knees could sideline me from that for a long time. So I will just go to the derby's and root them on from the sidelines, it's fun to watch!
One more random piece of information on me, my triplets are named after the three main characters from HBO's Six Feet Under (yeah, I am morbid and strange like that LOL).

That is cool. I spent my afternoon in the yard too - Mowing, trimming, raking. Our yard was looking good, then we had an irrigation system installed. They only reseeded where they dug - Wish I had them put sod back down!
Its funny how we change as we lose and rebuild ourselves isn't it?

I love meeting all these new parts of myself that where hidden inside that fat girl!
My yard is a mess b/c we adopted a giant yellow lab a few years ago and she killed almost all the grass in the yard. So I had to reseed the whole thing and still it's not making any progress. I might have to get a professional in to fix it now that she is gone (she passed away earlier this year).
