Easy meals that freeze well?
I am not a cook, I try but I generally suck at it. So I need some help finding simple recipes that I can make in bulk and freeze. I have a crock pot, but don't really know how to use it. If anyone knows of some bariatric friendly recipes that you love to make and freeze, please pass it on, I really need to get in the habit of cooking more.
Thanks!!
One of my staples is Taco Meat. Brown a pound of ground beef or ground turkey. Add a seasoning packet and some water. Coo****il most of the water is gone and you're done. 15 minutes maybe.
Freeze into portions - can use zip lock bags or little containers. Or freeze in old ice cube trays and pop the "cubes" into a zip lock once hardened - about an ounce per cube.
To serve - heat in Microwave, serve on a crisp lettuce leaf with a bit of cheese on top. Maybe some salsa for lubrication.
One of my Go to meals.
As you get more adventurous with your food choices and cooking skills you can make your own seasonings - asian is good, or spice the taco meat up with more peppers, fresh onions, etc.
Truly easy.
