Tired = Hungry?
Since my surgery I have made it a point to go to bed at a reasonable time and get 7 to 8 hours of sleep or at least sleep until I woke up. I didn't realize how good a job I was doing at it until yesterday. Prior to my surgery it was typical for me to only get 2 to 5 hours of sleep each night. Due to some conflicting work between two of my clients I had a late night last night and an early morning today. I only got about 3.5 hours of sleep last night. Here is the weird thing. I am hungry. I haven't had hunger pains in a couple of weeks now. But this explains a lot about how I got to my enormous weight. I used to do this EVERY DAY and when I was hungry I would eat. I was always hungry. But I am fighting falling asleep but I have this nagging hunger. I am sure it is my body trying desparately to get some cheap energy.
I will not cave! I will not go back to my old destructive ways! I will prevail! I will be the master of my mind and body! I will be healthy and successful!
Good job. You may also find that its both physical hunger and some head hunger. The sleep will also help your weight loss.
Congrats on recognizing a trigger and establishing a plan to deal with it!

You can do this!!!
I have the same issues...except I work swing shift. I start midnights tonight and I would find myself snacking at 2 am because I couldn't find any other way to stay awake. I still don't get 8 hours (or even 4) when I'm working midnights. I just do my best to keep healthier snacks on hand.
