Cali peeps, I need your help with a restaurant in LA!

So my husband and I are going to California over Thanksgiving to visit his family.  The Saturday after Thanksgiving is my birthday and we will be spending it with our friends *****cently moved there.  Does anyone have any good suggestions for a nice yet casual restaurant in LA?  I will be about a week into eating solid foods so please keep that in mind!  Oh, and just wanted to add, that this is my first time in California EVER!

Do you know what part of LA you are going to be in?

I believe near Westwood?  Does that sound right?  lol

Ugh.  This is such a tough question because Westwood (near UCLA, right?) has so many little hole-in-the-wall places that you will never find on the internet.  Some are super small (think almost carry-out), and some are sit down places.  If your friends don't have any suggestions, then I would suggest to maybe meet for drinks somewhere, then walk around until you find a place that you like.

I like Hugo's on Santa Monica Blvd.  it is in West Hollywood. Lots of choices, vegetarian, vegan, meats.  We go there every time we are in L A . 

I like the W in Westwood. Good bar, good restaurant, good choices for you and easy parking, which is not so easy in Westwood.
