Walking along my own path
Hi folks. It's so good to know you are all out there for advice and support. Your wisdom and accomplishments are totally inspiring. I'm 6.5 weeks out from surgery, and only started following this website the week before that. I had no idea that people generally lost so much weight so quickly. Comparatively, that has not been my experience (-20 post op) but at the same time, there is no way I could have lost this much weight by any other method.
So while I'm grateful, I have to be very careful to keep my eyes on my own prize and not waste time comparing myself to others. Yes, I've been following the most common approach of 600-800 calls with 60-80 protein and 64+ oz water, so I guess I'm not really looking for advice, but encouragement and confirmation for walking my own walk.
Yes, it's hard some days to see those amazing stats so many of you are recording, but I'm truly happy for each and every one of you. I'm grateful to have you in my life.

Welcome! I'm just a little more than two weeks out, and am making my way as well. We have all the same general guidelines, but it seems we all have to figure out exactly what works best for us within those guidelines.
Generally, those of us with around 100 pounds or less to lose are the "lightweights" and our loss is often slower than others. There are so many factors that play into the speed of loss, that really, we all just have to focus on what we are each doing to be successful and support each other on our journey!
Then some of us haven't posted tickers because I haven't been able to focus enough to figure out how to put the weight ticker up! LOL!
Keep us posted!
I've only just managed to post a photo, so I know how you feel about the ticker! Hugs and blessing to you on your brand new journey

I just read something great on FB - "Comparison is the theif of joy" - one more reminder that comparing yourself to others is wasted energy. Celebrate those 20 lbs.
I walked my own path - that's for sure. Im sure I made my journey harder for myself than it could have been, but hey, I lost the weight and Im as healthy as I can possibly be. There is no one way to do this - but there are proven ways that get results.
