I'm Still a Runner! - NSV
Its 36 degrees outside and I just went for my first run after my LBL. I am freezing and I loved it!
Between my eye surgeries, straining my Hip Flexor muscle, and my LBL this is the first time I have been able to run since August. My Huge victory - my training held! My pace was slower (between 12 an 13 minutes per mile), but I was able to do the whole 3.3 mile course without stopping - including the 100+ foot climbs in some spots. My heart rate spent more time in the max side than before, but it was good.
This is a huge NSV for me.
Now, I have to go get some cold weather running gear. 2 layers is not enough in 36 degrees.

Congratulations on the great run! Keep it up!
Devon has it right -- silk long johns will keep you warm while running. There are a lot of snow mobilers around here and they use silk long johns under the snow mobile suits. I even have silk liners for my regular gloves. I'm always cold, but these silk liners keep my hands toasty warm.
Glad to know you're back with your running......I know how much I miss my workouts when I can't get to my fitness center. Feels great to be moving again, doesn't it?

I had more restrictions because I also had the I muscle repair. For me it was 6 weeks for light exercise and 12 for anything strenuous. My surgeon wanted me to avoid running particularly because if I fell I could tear the stitches in my abdominal muscles Through either the impact or trying to catch myself.
