How many nights did you stay in the hospital with VSG surgery?

I am researching a surgeons.   One I am considering keeps you in one night.

I stayed two nights but my hubby was only in one night.  I also had a hernia repair during surgery so I think I had more pain and swelling. I think it is fine if the dr says that is the standard for their patients as long as it doesn't sound like a rule. Our surgeon said at the outset that 2 days was normal but he had a couple patients that went home after 1 night and a couple that stayed 3 nights. I think that flexibility to give you the care you individually need after surgery is imperative.

 

I stayed one night, spent most of my time up and walking. 

I spent 1 night, but was told from the start 1-3, and most likely 2...I was up 30 minutes after arriving in my actual room, and was doing laps almost immediately.  My surgery was 8a Thursday, was released 9p friday...

For most people it is one night.  The surgeon wants to make sure there is no leak before you go home. They have you up and walking not long after you wake up. 

I want everything to be fine and still stay for 3 days my kids are all adults and moved out.I would like to stay rest and know I wasn't far from help if I need it....

I stayed 2 nights. I was originally slated for only 1 night, but I started to get very nauseous and couldn't keep anything down. I stayed a second night and felt totally fine! 

I stayed one night. I was up walking as soon as they allowed me to and had no problems except a drain for 10 days.

One night.  Passed my leak test the following morning and was cleared to go home.
