Can you see the steam coming out my ears!
I am so pissed right now! I just called the insurance company to find out the status of my appeal and the lady said that she hasn't received any paperwork. I just sent an email to the surgeon's office asking what the hell is going on! This makes no sense. I'm hoping that the customer service person was wrong!

My doctors office was supposed to send my information to the insurance company Monday 11/4. I called the insurance company on 11/6 and they had not received it. I called the doctors office but got the voice mail of the person handling it. I left a message for them to call me asap and left the fax number for the insurance company. No one called me. I called the insurance company again on 11/7 and they still did not have it. The lady was really nice and asked me if I would like her to call my doctors office to see if they were having a problem faxing it. The insurance company called me back 30 minutes later and they had the paperwork. I was approved that afternoon 11/7. I received a call on 11/11 from my doctors office to schedule my surgery. Surgery date 12/2.
Goodness.,,, you have been through the hoops with this stuff. They BETTER APPROVE YOU!!!

It's possible the customer service person has NOT rec'd the paperwork....I say this because they way it was explained to me, that kind of approval goes through a different process than the rest of our 'normal' claims/paperwork/etc. I was told surgery requests go to a board of people, different from regular customer service. I have no idea if that means that it's not even logged in your electronic file yet, that surgery is pending approval or not. It may not be noted until a decision is made. I may think different insurance companies all have different systems/processes.
still keeping fingers and toes crossed for you Pharmagirl!!
