1-year followup doc visit

Just got a letter from my surgeon that he is retiring from his bariatric practice effective April 12th.  My 1-year followup visit was scheduled for May 19th.  He will not see anyone unless they are already scheduled or under 3-months postop.  I'm feeling great and not having any issues.  Are there any blood tests that should be performed?  If so, I'm sure my PCP would order them.  Suggestions?  Thank-you.

My surgeon told me that if I move out of state or he leaves then the office would refer me to another surgeon. He said it is important for me to always follow up and not just use my PCP. It sucks (for you) that your surgeon is retiring. Good luck

Thanks.  He's the only bariatric surgeon in a 60-mile radius.  I have a support group meeting on April 8th...maybe they will know more by then.
