Not able to get down more than 20 oz of fluid a day.
Had surgery Thursday the most I have gotten down is 20 Oz of water the whole day , half a jello ,3 spoon fulls of broth and half a popsicle ..The pain is , my main issue is I have been coughing up green phlem I called the Dr yesterday and they told me to just keep coughing it up .I just went and walked around my block and I am thinking that was a bad idea due to allergy season and where I live it's horrible .And ideas or suggestions on the issues I am having ?
try some decaf tea , ice pops are great and take your pain meds if you have them , if you stop peeing or get dizzy you may need to go get iv fluids
it should improve in a few days but if you don't feel good call your surgeon day or night someone is on call
I had surgery on Wednesday. Getting the fluids in is a challenge - but I keep sipping away. I got my shakes in yesterday, my first day home, and sipped water as much as I could. I had some chicken broth, which really felt good - I actually went out and bought some more a little while ago. I've been taking the pain meds because I am sore, but it's bearable. Coughing a lot too. Guess we just have to keep plugging away - should be better in a few days.
Hope things progress well for you.
SF popsicles were my favorite. You might also want to try different temperatures, sometimes warm goes down better than cold. Are you taking anything for your allergies?
