9 months post op - Life is GREAT for this former SMO!!!
9 months post op...what a ride! :) 292 pounds lost from my highest weight (154 lbs pre-op - firm believer that the more weight I lost pre-op the easier my post op would be, 138 lbs lost so far post-op). While the journey has not been easy, it has given me my life and for that I am thankful.
I've stayed on my plan 100% of the time since starting my journey pre-op. I consume 600-700 calories a day, keep carbs below 40 and I always under eat my sleeve. I always weigh and measure everything. I eat ton's of fish, chicken and turkey. Red meat and I don't have a great relationship...so, we don't hang out together. :) I haven't eaten bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc... since making the decision to pursue weight loss. Carbs are not my friend and I know that for me, if I start eating them mindlessly, I will dive face first into the bowl and never be able to stop. So for now, they have little place in my life.
Some highlights:
* I now weigh what I did in 6th grade (eons ago)
* BMI: 29.3 down from 84.5
* Clothing: size 10-12 down from 5X-6X
* Medications: maintenance medications 3 down from 15
* Total inches lost to date: 192 inches
* 2 5K's completed with a third one coming up in two weeks.
Life is good

It has been amazing. I am in awe daily at the person who is emerging from the rubble of obesity.
