There is a Trader Joe's opening soon near me. I see frequent references to this store on various boards and was curious what are everyone's favorite items from Trader Joe's. I will have a new grocery store to explore soon. Who knew that I would ever consider that exciting???

Love Trader Joe's!

There are lots of things I buy from there, some on a regular basis, some just occasionally. YMMV of course, based on your own tolerances and tastes.

  • Full fat, plain greek yogurt
  • Unsweetened almond milk
  • Carne asada marinated steak. They have a bunch of marinated meats but check the label for sugar content.
  • Frozen seafood. My favorite is Langostino tails! Like tiny lobster bites!
  • Salsa autentica, good with cheese crisps.
  • Kerrygold butter - best price ever and the butter is divine.
  • Frozen haricot vert and other frozen vegetables. Frozen vegetables are great because I can portion out a tiny bit for me.
  • Cheeses, of all types
  • Charcuterie, all kinds
  • Rosemary marcona almonds
  • Tea
  • When I'm in a mood to treat myself, I buy one of their nice smelling cosmetic products, like lavendar foot scrub.
  • They often have interesting spices which I like to use on fish.

That sounds like some great stuff but it is 45 minutes from me so I have only been once. Although the same company owns Aldis and that is right by me so they get some decent stuff.

I didn't realize that Aldi's and Trader Joe's were owned by the same company. I get my cheese sticks from Aldi's. 7 gm protein for only 50 cal. They are worth the drive for me.

They don't always have them! But they are soooo good. Such a treat.

Love Carne asada so that sounds like a great find. I'm also pretty darn intrigued in trying the butter. Thank you so much for the great ideas!

wish we had a TJ here.  When i am in the big city, i get World Wide protein drinks in a can, power crunch protein bars,  all kinds of unusual sauces in a bottle that can be used on the endless parade of stir fried chicken that we eat.  some spice mixes (see Frisco) , their coffee is good to and they have interesting cheeses.   they also have sugar free low carb chocolate bars which can become a bad habit.  diane

Those low carb chocolate bars have SUGAR ALCOHOLS and should be treated with extreme caution. The "may cause laxative effect" is no joke.

Oh so many things! The turkey stuffed bell peppers in the refrigerated section, the frozen buffalo patties...tons of protein, tahini sauce, just chicken (plain cooked chicken breast in strips), great frozen veggies, masala simmer sauce (in a jar). I could go on and on and on....
