So frustrated

So I guess I am experiencing my 3 week stall and I am losing my mind. When will this be over? I am so frustrated because I was losing weight faster before I had surgery.  So I am feeling like I made a mistake. Wednesday will be my 1 month post op and I will be switching to soft foods, so does that mean the stall will continue past that? I am at 300.8 and desperate to get below 3 for the first time since high school.

I am eating on plan, exercising, getting all my water and vitamins in and sleeping enough.  What more can I do?

Just wait it out.  If you are following your plan, it will happen, promise!  My stall started at 2.5 weeks and lasted 2 weeks.

If you're following all of your doctor and nutritionist's advice, the stall will pass. You'll get on the scale one morning and it will have dropped several pounds. Your body is resting for a bit. That's all. It will pass. Really.

Start measuring yourself. Many times if the scale is not dropping, inches are :)

I know it doesn't sound helpful or encouraging but we will all tell the same thing.  Because we've all been there.  Just keep on going, follow the plan and you WILL LOSE weight.  Put your scale away for a week. 2 weeks.  Don't focus on the number.  Focus on your sense of well being, your courage and strength.  You took this huge step and it is going to work for you too!

I'm going to blame your surgeon! Seriously... He/She should have warned you that since you had lost a boat load of weight prior to VSG you would lose more slowly and steadily than someone who just did a quick pre op diet and then had the surgery. I have seen this over and over in the past 4.5 years.

You have already lost almost 150 pounds and 125 those pounds were lost pre op. Follow a low calorie, low carb, high protein plan. Measure, plan and track your meals faithfully. If you do those things, the weight will come off. I promise!

I was afraid of that. Obviously I don't regret the 125 pounds I lost preop but still lol. I was eating actual food then. I have been eating protein and veggies only since July and I am fine with that, but at this moment all I want is a chicken breast :P

I had my first stall at about the 3-4 week mark and it lasted like 8 days. It was nerve wracking. Then poof, the morning the stall ended, I dropped like 4 pounds and did a happy dance. So just hang in there. It will pass.

This worked for me: Drink more fluids, focus way less on food and the power it can have over your thoughts, and hide your scale for a week. If you keep doing everything right, the weight will come off. It's science!
