First, I am so grateful I can't eat much at a time~ we were traveling, and because there are some Chinese things I can eat (and we have an awesome place where we live with crispy vegetables and seafood), I thought it would be a safe deciision.

I have never been so sick! Aagh. So a word of caution; traveling may create challenges!

Sadly food poisoning is always a risk, whether sleeved or not!

As Gwen noted, it can happen to anyone, anywhere, WLS or not. One thing to watch for is dehydration, as one can easily lose too much fluid from either end. One of our post op friends had a bout of food poisoning while travelling across Canada and toughed it out until going to the ER in Nova Scotia - doc said that he had never seen a Potassium level so low on someone still alive. So, watch for any signs of muscle weakness or otherwise low electrolyte levels.
