Just got back from the Dr and...

Just got back from the Dr's and first off I am EXHAUSTED!!!! Who would of thought that such a short little trip would wear me out so much!?!  Secondly, I have a really bad infection around my g-tube. I got yelled at for not coming in sooner, but It didn't start looking yucky until Friday night, and I am NOT going to go sit all night in a madhouse ER!!!! So, anyway. I was put on two antibiotics, and they are both huge horse pills. I am seriously glad that I have tube access to put those puppies in!! Hopefully the stitches that are keeping it in place won't pull out as they are right in the middle of the worst area of infection.

The doc thinks that the infection is what's been making me feel so sick all the time. Once it clears up I should be able to drink enough fluid, without infusing through the tube, to keep myself hydrated and food will hopefully start settling better.

Please keep the swingin critters coming. I feel really crappy and if the infection doesn't clear up some by Thursday, I'll end up back in the hospital on IV antibiotics. I REALLY don't want that to happen!!! Thanks.    -Julie

Oh WOW - swinging you don't end back up in the hospital.  Hopefully the Dr is right and once the infection is gone you'll feel much better and get some much needed food and water in.

Hang in there!!

Im still swinging for you, Are you letting your tube hang or are you taping it to your belly? I found the taping to my belly helped out so much.

lol   Actually it stems from a Jewish ritual "swinging chickens" but the DS board used it to be non or religious neutral, or so they thought...  Anyway, I brought swinging chickens to the LW board but one of our members said she was all out of chicken and she would just swing the lizards that were crawling up her patio wall. Well, it stuck and LWs have been swinging lizards and various critters ever sense. It just means a person is sending up prayers, sending someone healing thoughts, wishing them good luck or just thinking hopeful thoughts.
