Good Morning. Up with the chickens, or lizards, if you're all out of chicken

Ok, so we can substitute lizards for chickens...what else do you substitute for the more traditional things? Some things that come to mind are Splenda for sugar and rice noodles for wheat noodles. Do you have any good substitutes to share this morning?

soy breakfast sausage for sausage

eggbeaters for eggs in an omelet and in many recipes

greek yogurt for sour cream

like Price, applesauce for oil, pre surgery (now any baked goods would most likely make me VIOLENTLY ill).....I tried your flax muffin Price 3 weeks ago and I dry heaved for 30 min plus the foamies.....so NOT ready for any bread product yet).....it tasted so yummy too.

protein bars for chocolate

sugar free candy when I just need something sweet

I love to substitute cauliflower for pasta in things like Mac & Cheese.  I make creamy cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes.

I use spaghetti squash instead of noodles in things like baked spaghetti.

"Open Nature" brand chicken sausages for any kind of sausage link or hot dog.

Unsweetened Almond Milk for cow's milk

Truvia for bitter Stevia in drinks (Still use Stevia in cooked things)

Stir fried anything (in coconut or olive oil) rather than pan fried or boiled.

P28 High Protein Bread for sandwiches rather than any other bread.

Wendy's Chile instead of canned Chef Boyardee Ravioli.

Many of the same things as others plus I use cauliflower for pizza crust, rice and pasta.  I add flax meal to meatloaf instead of bread crumbs.  Makes it creamy and yummy.  I will also use oat bran for a filler in some recipes.  I make a protein caramelizer instead of the expensive version from Dutch Brothers.  It costs a lot less and has protein.
