Hello Wal-mart!!!

I had my first trip out of the house that wasn't a Dr's appointment. I enjoyed getting out. I was going a little stir crazy!!!!

I picked up a few things and came home. Not a very long outing but boy was I ready to come home. I am still a bit surprised by how fast I get worn out. I know it takes time, and I truly feel like I'm going in the right direction towards healing, but jeez!!!.... It's ok though! I still had a good time and a good day. I actually got some tuna down and it stayed down! I only can eat about 2 tbs at a time, but that is an improvement over yesterday!  Baby steps.  I can handle that.

I hope everyone enjoys their Labor day plans!!! I'm gonna hang out here. Hubby is going to go visit his parents, but it's a hour plus trip. I'm not sure I am ready for that yet, and they don't exactly serve RNY friendly fare. And I've already planned to try my meatloaf tomorrow! Yummy yummy! Small bites and chew chew chew chew. Y'all have a great day!!!                -Julie

meatloaf was one of the first things I tried too..wanted it sooo bad! Watch out though for the sugar in it..we make ours with a special sauce that has brown sugar in it, bbq sauce, and ketchup..didn't think twice that it might cause me dump but boy was I wrong!! Now I make it the same but with half the amount of brown sugar and I use the splenda mix, reduced sugar ketchup, and a lower sugar bbq sauce..

Thanks for the heads up, Aspen! I use A-1 and Ketchup and other spices. I didn't even know that there was a reduced sugar ketchup. Hubby may be making a grocery store run before he goes to visit his family! I haven't dumped since I had the surgery and I'm hoping to avoid it forever!!!   LOL Your meatloaf recipe sounds really good. I may have to switch it up when I'm feeling more like myself and make a version of yours for the family to try. You never know. It could be our new favorite thing!!! Thanks again.                               -Julie

Hormel makes a turkey chili that is really good too! It was one of my favorite things post-op...

Thanks, Denise! I'm going to have to try that. Chili was not a friend before surgery, but my new pouch may tolerate it better than my old stomach did. I will have to experiment and see. Thanks for the suggestion!!!!                                                             -Julie

I remember my first trip to Walmart after surgery, came home and slept for 4 hours afterward. You are doing great and the G-tube will be out in no time

Crazy how worn out I still get from doing small things, but It's getting better. Soon I'll be back to doing what I'm used to doing only more cause I'm shedding my "fat suit" !!!! Yay!!!

And I cannot wait to get this d*** tube out!!! Hopefully I'll only need it for a couple more months. As bothersome as it is, I have come to depend on it. I may complain about it but I would have been in serious trouble without it. Hopefully I won't need it soon. Thanks for the support!!                                     -Julie

My first outing after my surgery was also to Walmart after my 1-week surgeon's appointment.  I was very weak at the time, and my husband suggested that I use one of the motorized carts.  Of course I refused, but looking back, that was probably a good idea.
