Good Morning. How many have held the umbrella for your dog?

So, it was raining cats and dogs this morning when the older dog needed to go out the first time (4:15AM). Being the softy, tree hugging, animal lover that I am, I donned my raincoat and held the umbrella for her while she picked her spot (takes her awhile...) and tinkled. {sigh}  Please tell me I'm not the only one that does this.

Now I'm both dogs bestie. Newton has either been on my lap or sitting at me feet giving my legs a bath... Gotta love our fur babies.

Tell us a story about your fur babies

LOL - You are not the only one Gina. Little Willie hates to go out in the rain. We about have to drag him out.

At night if one of us goes to bed before the other and take him with us, he gets his place all warm. If you try to move him, he growls at you!! We just lay in bed and laugh at him some nights!!

I'm off today, going shopping with DD and DGD2.

Have a great day!!

Ziggy, at 15, a fiest, gets carried from the bed, our bed, not hers, to the grass every morning.  Otherwise, she will not get up.  For all of you who swung lizards for her, it worked.  After 4 days in the hospital on IVs she is home, eating and doing great (for 15).

Max, the rescued Min Pin, barely sneeks out from under the covers before 9am.

Thor, the height challenged JRT, sleeps on a dog bed at the end of our bed.  If he gets the covers under him and you move, he growls at you.  thor will follow me in the morning when I go to the barn but is back in bed when I get back.  The others never move a muscle.

We had to get a reclining loveseat for DH so all the dogs could join him.  Thor sleeps between his legs, Max under his arm, Ziggy at the end.  They won't sit with me because I have a little recliner and move too much.

The 2 boys are 12 and Ziggy is 15.  Life is going to be very different without them.

There ARE advantages to being a cat person...they can potty inside in a litter box. No trips outside. However, that will probably be changing...we are on a mission to find a dog. We want a large or extra large puppy. With plenty of room outside, a large/xlarge breed isn't an issue. What we want is a Mastiff or Great Dane. I LOVE Mastiff's!

My fur babies- 3 cats and 2 poms- are all thoroughly spoiled, though I don't hold umbrellas for the poms! I do dry them off when they come in from the rain.

Oh,yeah,my own plus more than one when I had my pet sitting business.
I had one way old dog as a client who was paralized in his back end from arthritis. He was a good size lab mix. I had to carry him out and then set him down, then get him sorta up on his front legs then we would walk around with me holding his back end in position while he sniffed and sniffed and SNIFFED looking for "his" spot.

Thank heavens he didn't mind the rain but I often got soaked, lol. Started bring a few extra sets of clothes on the times I had visits with him.

I have 4 Chihuahuas and they are spoiled, lazy little freaks.  They don't like to get their feet wet.  Getting them to go outside in the rain is almost impossible.  Thus we use potty pads.  I have to tape the doggy door up because 2 of them can't figure out how to use it.  JJ can get outside but not back inside.  He used to be able to do it but either he's senile (he's 12) or weak because of his heart problems.  Princess is a princess and sits and watches the others use it and then tries to go out the glass part of the door.  Stupid as a box of rocks.
They all sleep with me and it gets very crowded.  I wake up several times a night to reposition dogs so I have a place to sleep.  In the day time they all want to sleep on me.  Often I have 4 dogs with me on the recliner.  Tazzie is on my lap right now as I speak, which is hard when you are a 15lb Chihuahua.  Pepper is on my legs.  The other 2 are on the other recliner.  I hate bothering them when I have to get up and when I come back they have taken over the chair.
I can't even think about losing any of them.  Tazzie is 11 and in good health but JJ has heart problems, although he is doing better then he has in a long time.  He worries me the most because he is the most fragile.  He is only about 3 1/2lbs and the others are at least 8 or 9lbs.
They sure are loving little guys who make my life a lot happier.

I've got 3, two 1.5 yo's and an 8 yo. The two pups are a handful. When it rains, they come in with the wet paws and they all huddle in front of me, handing me paws. 12 paws!!! It's a Hoot!
