2nd Anniversary & Happy Thanksgiving - xpost/photos

I just realized that today is my 2 year anniversary of WLS.  Where in the world has two years gone?  I am most thankful for my WLS and have not once had any regrets.  I am now in maintenance and find that maintenance is equally as difficult as the approval process for WLS.  I didn't think anything would be harder than the approval process but maintenance is an ongoing effort --a daily struggle in fact--to maintain the weight that I have worked so hard to lose.

What am I most proud of?  My physical fitness.  I am more fit than I have ever been in my entire life and I served in the US Army where I was running 5-6 miles a day back in my early 20s so that says a lot.  I love pushing my body.  No.  I take that back.  I hate the way it feels when I'm doing it but I love how I feel emotionally once its all said and done.  I have done things that I never thought possible --and that my friends, is beyond cool.

Life is so good and I am so blessed.  Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share this with all of you!

oxox,
Kelli

Wow Shammy, you had just had your surgery when I started coming to OH and the LW forum.  I remember following your journey so closely.  Look at you today.  You are stunning and look so happy.

I completely get what you mean about being the most fit you've ever been.  At 21 months I can definitely say the same thing.  I also so agree on maintenance being tough.  I have to track every bite of food and if I add in just a touch of carbs my weight goes up a few pounds.  I feel like it's a big struggle to stay at the 100 pounds down mark.  The only thing we can do is hang in there and continue to reap the benefits that our surgery has given us.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
