What a cheek!

Had a friend visit who I hadn't seen since before my surgery 4 months ago.  (she doesn't know about the RNY)   Not only did she not mention the 40 odd pound loss since I last saw her but she asked me if the dog had lost weight!  The dog! 

WTH?  (dog hasn't btw)

 Poor baby girl!!! 

But that was stupid funny:)

I bet that was her round about way to get you to talk about your weight loss without her having to ask...but why not just tell you you look great?

Im with Gina on this one, she may have been afraid of asking so she talked about the dog. You do look great

Hell, you might even know her; she lives in Chesapeake! 

I kept having folks ask if I got a haircut, yep, cut 40lbs off it.

Your spin on it was just plain funny, I really lol.  Maybe what Gina said is true, or maybe its just hard for her to acknowledge your lose.  Hopefully when you are down 80 lbs she will not just ask about the d-o-g!  Congrats on your 40!

LOL! I get it!

I had to renew my driver's license last year. I had lost 130 pounds at that point and looked VASTLY different than my old pic, so I brought several forms of documentation to prove that I was who I am.

The girl behind the counter looked at the pic, looked at me, and said "That's you," and just went on. I felt like throwing a tantrum and proving that I was me when it wasn't in question at all!

Over the holidays my partner's family seemed to fall into two camps, those that noticed the 85+ pound weight loss and immediately assumed it was cancer and several asked that, or the ones that completely ignored everything and actively looked for other things to talk about.  I believe they were just too polite to ask about the obvious.   I wouldn't take it personally that friend asked about your dog. I agree that she was trying to find a polite way to ask what she was really wondering about!
