Lifting Stuff

I  wanted to share this, as I think everyone can relate

I was dragging 40 lb bags of manure and mulch around the garden for the past week.  I really can't lift that much, even just using my legs.  It was such a struggle.  Yet just one year ago, I was lifting 100lbs every time I got up from a chair....No wonder life seems so much easier now.

I definitely understand what you are saying!  I didn't think I was that over weight but my before pictures keep reminding me.

Eliza, I can relate. I had total knee replacement a year after my WLS and my surgeon was thrilled that I had lost all my weight and told me over and over how much easier my recovery was going to be. My shoulders used to buckle when I'd lift myself up because I had no knee support. One other eye opener was when I kind of started falling into the car. I used to have to stuff myslef in, but after a certain point I'd think there was more left to get in and I'd just kind of fall, whoops, I'm in!!! LOL!!!

OMG I was a car faller, too!!!! I forgot about that. I love this surgery!!!!!! I still have hip issues sitting cross legged on the floor. My legs now fall to the ground (used to be so much padding they didn't!!). Now I get really sore joints when I get up.

Thanks for sharing.  I can't imagine carrying my 120+ pounds around anymore.  It sure does make it easier to get around now.

I had a sports Grand Prix with a sunroof and I loved it, but it just got so hard to get in and out of it.  Rather than lose weight, I just traded for a Mini-SUV.  Now sometimes I wish I had my little sports car back, but I do love the room in my SUV.
