  Morning all ,

I'm a 16 year Canadian Forces member who  has chosen to go ahead with WLS, after multipible deployments in Afghan, Dubai UAE and Haiti I'm finally in a static posting and am ready to make this change in my life. I'm wondering if any pre or post op Mil mbrs can share there experence and there timeframe.

I'm seriously considering self pay.

Any help would be great

Cheers

Retired after 30 years. I had back surgery 2 years before I retired and that's when the weight started coming on and I couldn't do anything to stop it. It took civilian insurance to pay for mine and would have considered self-pay if I had to. Best thing I've done for myself in a long time.

Our military can't have WLS and serve in either the active or reserves, so you might want to read up on that in your current situation.

Welcome!  I don't have any military experience - but if your service allows WLS and still serve - then go for it!
