Good Morning. And one more thing

Either sedate those kids or make sure they have good naps before bringing them to a public restaurant. {sigh}  We had a nice romantic dinner for 5 adults and 2 babies last night. DH thought it would be nice to share our anniversary with the kids and the grand babies. Umm...not so much. The grand babies were out of control and I couldn't eat comfortably...stomach tied up in knots.  I will have to have a heart to heart talk with DH about this.  I think I need to apologize to the waiter and the restaurant manager, it was awful. Son#1 and DIL were doing their best to keep them calm and under control but it just wasn't happening because the babies were tired and the big round table we were sitting at had a semi circle shelf all around the back perfect for crawling and walking around. At least we were in an alcove in the back against a wall.  McDonald's play room has nothing on that.

Anyway, TGIF LW lovelies! What do you have planned for the weekend?

Sorry your dinner was spoiled.  But at least they were your kids, not someone elses.  We were so broke when our kids where small, they never went out to dinner with us (we didn't go either)  Maybe you 2 can get away for another quiet dinner.  It does amaze me where and when some little ones are out.  Mine were in bed at 8, not out to dinner at 9.  It's a different world.

DH has a Dr appt and I am just working, trying to get caught up from everything over the last week.  I never did get my walk yesterday that was planned while DH was in OT.  I felt like I needed to sit and listen.  I imagine he will be released to drive today so that will be the end of my driving him.  Maybe things will settle down and I can at least walk.  Not suppose to do anything else because of the eye.  Follow up on that yesterday went perfect.  they are very pleased.  Me too.

Sorry you had a less than quiet romantic dinner last night. I can understand where your dh is coming from but sometimes dinner out for JUST the two of you would be nice. An anniversary dinner is one of those.

Sorry to hear your dinner wasn't quite what you would have liked it to be.  I remember when Alan was a baby we went to a Chinese place for dinner and he screamed the entire time - we had to take turns eating and walking with him to quiet him down.

I'm sure as they get older it will get better - especially if they continue to go out to eat with Mom and Dad and expectations of their behavior is given to them.

Heading back to MI for the week on Sunday.  Will be there for the week, then back the following Sunday ... or so.  My new countertops are getting installed on Tuesday (yea!) and then I can feel the house is put together!

When ours were little DH would not even go out to eat with us!!  Sometimes our granddaughters act good and sometimes they don't.  I just try to ignore them.

Maybe y'all can go out just the two of you some other time for a nice meal.

We are leaving in the morning for the family Disney trip!!  Yeah!!  I'm so ready for a vacation.  Pray for an uneventful time for us.  There are about 14 of us in one 7 bedroom house so I hope everyone plays nice.  Three little girls under the age of 4 so that should be interesting when they get tired.

I have got so much to finish at work today before I can get off.  Better get started on some of it.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy anniversary:

Picking up DH at airport tonight.  He will be in town for a week.  Going out to dinner tonight and to friends tomorrow night.  Suinday meeting with other friends to watch the football game.  Guess we are going to be pretty busy.

A few weeks ago I had the bright idea to invite my daughter and her kids for dinner.  I was bringing my other grand daughter, Cassidy, 5.  She brought Tyson, 7 (her step son that lives with them), Kamiya, 6, Hailey, 4 (other step child that lives with them), Kaci, 3 and Sophia, 2.  I also brought my 17 year old daughter and 2 of her friends.  My daughter and her husband sat at one end of the table being affectionate with each other, leaving my other daughter and her friends to try to amuse the 6 kids at the other end and I was in the middle wishing I could disappear.  I don't know what is more embarrassing, six kids under 7 tearing the place apart, 3 teen agers acting like teen agers or 2 adults making out while ignoring all the chaos.  I am sure the whole staff and other guests hated us all.  I had babies crawling under tables, over tables, making a break for it and running all around, not to mention the mess they made.  We asked them what they wanted and one of them decided she wanted chocolate chip pancakes so all of them had to have chocolate chip pancakes, which none of them ate.  We could have ordered one or two of them and they would have all been fed. There were the normal spilled drinks, of course.  And the mandatory tantrum or two (or three, I lost count).  The fights over who would sit next to grandma, cousin, auntie or the cool teens.  I don't make enough money to give the waitress the tip she deserved but I think she went in the back and quit anyway after we left.

Lesson learned.  I love my grand babies but I will never go out to eat with all of them again.  Maybe one or two at a time and it might be manageable.  I had five kids but they were spread out in age and acted much better in public, with the older ones looking after the little ones.  These were all little ones and they were out of control.  My daughter and her husband don't take them out to eat often and they just don't know how to behave in public.  Now I know why they don't take them out to eat.

Early tomorrow morning I have an appointment to walk the  third ! insurance adjuster around our home - who  works for an outfit called CAP  services ,, which means  I'm pretty sure that they are paid  to  CAP  the payout  for the insurance company at the lowest possible figure  sadindecision  .  Then  I get to take out the quite likely asbestos lined giant ancient furnace out  of our basement  though I haven't been able to locate a suitably large sized reliable high efficiency one to install yet ( theres a run on boilers post storm) .  BIG FUN  .

the good news is I managed to clean the  breakers in the electrical box and got the lights on broken heartangry

All those months of Super school  with the City of New York turned out to be good for something !
