I ran the Womens Half Marathon on Sunday the 4th.  Finished in 3 hrs and 19 minutes and averaged a 15.1 minute mile with one potty stop and a stop for nutrition.  I felt so good when I finished.  Last year I was so excited when I reached 4 miles.  Never dreamed I could get this far.

I think 5 and 10ks are amazing but a 1/2 marathon is totally unbelievable.  Hurray for you.  Finishing is winning and you won big time!!!!

Congratulations Lin.  That is so awesome!!  How long did you train for this?  I've done a 10K and several 5K's, but can't imagine doing a half marathon.

I was running 4 miles last October.  I started training at the end of May.  I only ran up to 5 miles 3 x week and on Sunday did a long run getting up to 10 miles two weeks before the run.  It was fun

Congratulations angry I am not a runner, but my DH is, he did his first 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago. He did a 10k this morning. He says that when you set a distance goal and then meet it, it is a victory. He is registered for another 1/2 marathon on the anniversary of his VSG, 12/9. Isn't is amazing how out surgery has changed lives? Again, congratulations on this major accomplishment.
