6 months today
There's definitely a honeymoon with the sleeve. First, part of the honeymoon is mental and we have that just like DS and RnY. Second, in the early days, we can hardly eat anything -- remember those days of 400-600 calories?! But the swelling goes down eventually, and you can eat more and you have less to lose so moving around doesn't burn as many calories and so the weight loss slows down.
I don't believe in the "more calories" thing. I think you'll drop some water weight if you raise your calories but that won't help you in the long run as eventually the water weight comes back on once your body gets used to your new calorie rate.
If you want to break a stall, these are the tried and true methods:
-log your food if you aren't already
-increase your water/fluid
-increase your protein
-increase your exercise
I never stalled my entire losing period and it was definitely because I did all those things -- not necessarily on purpose to avoid stalling -- but I did gradually increase my protein and fluid and exercise and I did log the entire time. It all helped.
