Well my nut and doctors say 140 or 137 at the most will be my weight. I'm getting a little down because, I am going from 145-150 and can not get below. I'm at 150 today so I'm really bummed out, especially since I've seen 145. I just want to be 135! I'm 4 months out VSG. I guess I just needed to vent. I walk every morning 30 minutes on a 10 percent incline. I keep my protein above 100 daily and my carbs 30 and at times 50, but mostly 30 or below. I know to keep with it, but how do I know when I'm done losing? Ive been this way for a month now.  I do get my fluids in. Can't wait till Sunday, see what it brings.

Nikki, I stayed at one weight  plus or minus a lb from Sept 2011 to Feb 2012, then dropped another 5 lbs. By the time I had my jaw surgery in late March, I had dropped another 3 lbs.

I honestly thought I was done but I kept up my plan with the hope I wasn't...turns out I wasn't, just on a DAMNED LONG break!

How did you keep your sanity and not get depressed? I have some mental issues when I see a high number , I pig out , when I see a low number I eat even less! I'm a nut!

Part of it...I know where I was two years ago...the number on the scale is JUST a number. It helped that until 3 years ago, we didn't even own a scale...I went by how my clothes fit. Had been doing that for a decade or more.

Another way is to just not have "pig out" foods in the house...if you actually have to cook something before snacking, it does make you stop and think.

Also part of it...I had already hit a normal BMI when I stalled for 6 months. That seems to help.

But remember how far you have come already.

I had LONGGGGG stalls too.  Finally had to put the scale in the garage for 6 weeks...best decision ever.  You are early out so I would guess you still have more to lose.  The last bit takes the longest for us lightweights....keep on keeping on and ban the scale for a bit if you need to.  Last fall when it went in the garage was good for me...the # just kept me upset and when I weighed after thanksgiving I was happy again.

Good luck!!

I know it is hard but really, you are only 4 months out.  You will likely loose the rest.  I had to wrap my mind around the fact that this was not a diet I could end when I reached "goal", it was the rest of my life.  So you just keep on keeping on and you will get there.  It may be months from now, but if you keep on keeping on, it will happen.

You will get there if you keep on the plan.  Four months is not long at all.  You might want to try changing up your eating routine and your exercise routine for a couple of days and then dropping back down to see if you can get your body to start again.  Sometimes it adjust to what you are doing everyday and needs a change for a while.  I've seen some people have luck trying this.

If the scales are bothering you that much, I agree that you need to stay off them.

Good luck - you can do this!!!

You might try increasing your exercise time or # days per week.

Weight loss is still a mental challenge to all of us.  If you react negatively to the + change in the scale, put it away and only weigh once a week.  As has been said before, they operated on our stomach, not our head.  We still have to work hard to keep our head in control.
