Good Morning. Time to roll up your sleeves...

..and let the vampires have their way with you.    Scheduled my labs for Friday morning at o'dark thirty.  Vitalady sent me a text this morning about something she saw in an old post of mine about my labs and I had to go look. Sure enough, she was right. Spurred me to go ahead and get them done again before we go to my parents' for New Years.

So, the message for today is don't put your labs off. Get them done. Post your results here, as best you can, and we'll give you some feedback.

Y'all have a great Christmas week.

Yes sir!! ;)  I've set myself a reminder to see if I can get a fuller set of labs done, as I'm going to a different hospital to get a dexa scan next month (I'm hoping that hospital will be able to do tests my nearest hospital can't do as they don't do dexa scans either - even though it's a very big hospital... who knew).  I already have a doctor's referral for the basic set.

Storms moved in last night but it is a rain event here.  Getting ready to slop out to the barn to feed the ponies and donks.  Dinner tonight with my staff to sign contracts for the coming year.

Gina,

I just e-mailed her last week as I have some questions about my lab work I just had done. . .I am waiting to hear back from her.

I will post them on here when I get a few minutes, hopefully sometime tonight or tomorrow.  Do you normally post everything or just the abnormal stuff?

Thanks!

I try to post the things that Vitalady watches: hematocrit, hemoglobin, iron serum, ferritin, calcium, PTH, D3, copper, zinc, folate, B12, B6, B1, potassium, AST, ALT, vitamins A, E, and K.

Keep in mind Vitalady is several months behind on her email. She's recovering from some issues of a bad reaction to medications. I'm still not sure what post she was looking at of mine. The last time I posted them was July or August, I think.

And, protein serum, albumin and prealbumin

I kept putting mine off but in January our insurance is changing so that was a motivator for me.  18 tubes this time but boy was the girl that did them GOOD!  I never even felt the pinch of the needle and she got them all out of 1 arm.

I haven't had time to go over them completely and post them on my spreadsheet.

I had a bone scan about 3.5 years ago and it was good.  How often do I get that repeated?

If they are normal dexa scans, every 2 years after age 50. If you have osteopenia or osteoporosis, every year.

I'm hoping for a good blood draw this time. Last time I had the good vampire but even she had to stick me 3 times. My veins just stopped flowing. I guess my vitamin K1 is in good shape and my blood was clotting even when we had 5 more tubes to go.

WOW...I wish I would have thought of this sooner.  It's probably to late to get in for a scan by the end of the year.
