Landed in the ER last night (NOT due to my DS)

Ended up in the ER last night.

I was cooking dinner and all of a sudden, I could not get air in my lungs and was coughing. I ended up breathing very hard to get oxygen in but it felt like my lungs were being squished.

After making sure my heart was fine, they treated for bronchitis. So now I am on a zpac and a steriod. (YES, I eat lots of yogurt and take a probiotic, thank goodness). I've had a cold /sinus issues since back in late Oct. And being around a sick grandson last Sunday sent me over the edge.

Was told to spend THIS week resting. I am!

Thanks, I am already seeing an improvement but was told to stick to the meds til I finished them. I know to do that with my antibiotics...but then it's only four more days. However, I can already tell a difference in my gut...looser stools which is why I am so glad to be putting GOOD bacteria back in there as fast as I can. Yes, I know I am still killing off what goes in but it helps.

This is bad bronchial stuff this year. I am suffereing second bout of accurt bronchitis since October.  Get better. Can you take diflucan for yeast infection if it occurs?

Part of my problem STARTED in October when I was out around LOTS of people...far more than normal. I got a cold and the cough never got better.

Then last Sunday, I was around my 8 month old grandson who goes to daycare and has been sick most of the last 6 months. With my weakened system, I was a prime target.

I don't get yeast infections. Not prone to them. But my gut does get out of whack when I take antibiotics. That's why the yogurt and probiotics which are already on board.

Hi Pearla, my S.S!

Thanks...I am already feeling better. Amazing what being able to breath does for one's outlook!

And I was able to sleep last night without coughing my fool head off!

I hope you have a happy new year and I am looking forward to our 2 year mark!

ER isn't a fun place to be but being able to breathe is pretty important.

Glad you are feeling better now.  I guess if it had to happen, last night was better than tonight will be.  Don't want to be in the ER on New Years Eve.

Oh yeah...very important, LOL.

When I got to the ER last night, the waiting room had hardly anyone there. I was put in a room fairly quickly. I noticed when I was taken to have a CT scan of my lungs that they had them parked in the hall cause no more rooms. Being the main hospital on a city does have some disadvantages. The fact that everyone and his brother ends up there is one. On the other hand, tthey are the regions only Level One Trauma Center. And they are usually the best equipped for most things. I have been impressed with the level of care I have received there. One of the things we plan on doing once we move is retain our specialists here...it's not much further than Greenville and we have them "broke in" here. There we would have to start over.

Oh, and it is looking like Henderson County is where we will end up...

I think property and taxes are still cheaper in Henderson Co than Buncombe Co.  I like being between Asheville, Tryon and Brevard but when it is 5-8 degrees colder here in the winter, I am not happy.  I am when it is cooler in the summer, however.  I guess you can't have it all.  We do most of our Dr stuff in Asheville but I had WLS in Greenville because the group in Asheville wasn't a Center of Excellence yet, they are now.
