Doing so much better!
I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the suggestions you all gave me with regards to getting over my fatigue! Here's what I chose to do:
- Increased my protein to 100 grams a day minimum.
- Increased my Vitamin D3 and changed it to the dry form.
- Increased my water intake to, on average, 72 ounces a day.
- Increased my sleep to about 8.5 hours most nights.
My hubby and kids have commented that my attitude is much more positive and I have so much more life and energy to me. I'm back to running every other day. My NSV for this week... I can run a 14:15 minute/mile pace and can keep at it for 15 minutes! My 12 year old daughter told me that was her pace last school year during her fitness test... and the girl loves to run! Needless to say, she's happy with me, but then again she's not... if you know what I mean.
On the scale side, I'm down to 114.3 pounds as of this morning. My Body Fat% is at 22% and my BMI is at 22 as well. I'm a very happy girl!
Now to see if I have enough energy this weekend to successfully care for my 5-year-old nephew...
Sounds like you are doing well. I would suggest, especally if you are running, to increase your water some more. Otherwise, keep on keeping on. I think the D3 was a big help with my energy level.

Yay for you. BTW I get more water in by having a bottle and drinking a fair bit when I get up to use the bathroom at night. By the time I've finished my morning shower I've had a 16oz bottle.
PS I love the Bruce Lee quote in your siggy.

My water bottle is with me all the time now. It's at my bedside at night. I do drink from it overnight at times, but I don't count how much I drink then with my overall total. Why? I have no idea...
When I get up in the morning, I drink at least 8 oz when I take my Prilosec (still by dr's orders) and before I do anything else. The last couple of mornings I've gotten in closer to 16 oz.
Thanks on the Bruce Lee quote. He was one of my martial arts heroes growing up (besides my Tae Kwon Do instructor and my dad). His quotes and philosophy have helped me get through the rough times post-op. :)

I think it would have been awesome to still have him... and his son. My dad used Karate as his "outlet" when he was growing up in New York City. He really took up the practice when he was stationed in the Philippines with the Air Force. I was 5 yrs old when he put me in a Tae Kwon Do class and would watch my practices like a hawk for years to make sure my form was correct. About that same time, my instructor, Robert, had just taken over teaching the class and remained until his passing when I was 16 years old. I could never bring myself to continue training anymore. He was the older brother I never had and ALWAYS treated me like his little sister. Just hurt too much.
My daughter has expressed an interest in learning a martial art and I found a small Wing Chun school not too far from where we live. The teacher follows the old principles and maintains a small class - only 15 students at a time are taught. My husband actually likes the idea and I think I may take it up as well. It was a great stress reliever for me when I was younger...
