Menus and Miles Friday Feb. 1st
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with good choices during the Honeymoon Period!!!!!
So happy it's Friday!!!!!! The auditors were here on Wednesday and I got a PERFECT Review....YEAH!!!!! I needed some good news this week.
Scales are looking good for all of the stress I've had going on in my life this week. I've learned so much about healthy eating even during stressful times but I think posting on the LW board and being accountable has been the #1 reason for the good number on the scale.

Hi Roz! YEA for the perfect review!!! I tried to give blood today but they wouldn't take it, my iron was too low. She told me it was ok for living, but not good enough to give blood and still have some left... (iron). I supplement every day. Of course they gave me a list of foods with iron in it...
B - egg/ham/cheese scramble
S - a cookie
L - 1/2 of a small pepperoni/cheese stromboli
S - hot choc protein drink
D - ?
Vits: yes
Water: low

Giving blood for malabsorbers is usually a no-no regardless.
How much iron are you taking, what kind and how often?

Not supposed to take ferrous sulfate. Good ones are heme, carbonyl, fumerate and polysaccharide.

I'm taking the Carbonyl.... and each pill is 60mg. I take 3-4 a day, but, I take them all at the same time.
I'm back in MI where my Proefferin is... I'll be taking that here.

It's fine to take them all at the same time. You can't take anything else near them. PITA, iron. Taking the Proferrin off and on is a good thing, I think.

I took the Carbonyl with the rest of my vitamins, but no calcium.
I'm going to concentrate on taking my iron with C here, away from the rest of my vitamins. See how I feel.

Glad to know they check before you donate. I usually get light headed when I get my 18 tubes of blood out so I don't think it would be a great idea for me to try and donate blood.
Sounds like you did better on Friday.
