I just realized I wasnt suppose to have any vitamins for 24 hours before blood work and I'm suppose to fast for 12 hours. Anyway do you all drink water when fasting, because this puts me at 230 tomorrow afternoon now for blood work which would make for a long dry day.

Thanks,

Trish

I fast over night for a total of 12 hours or so. You do want to keep drinking plan water as much as possible, I stop my vitamins by lunchtime the day before labs and usually get labs as early as I can the next morning with a protein coffee sitting in the car waiting for me.

Huh.  I have never been told to stop vits but I only do water from bedtime until after labs. Do lots of water.  I also go as soon as I can in the morning and have a protein decaf waiting in the car.

Well I was planning on going in the morning but I didn't notice until later today that my lab slip says no vitamins for 24 hours and I had taken some at 2 I was just assuming it was 12 hours like the fast. I'll live I don't eat much anyway but I will miss my protein drinks.

Thanks ladies,

Trish

If you don't drink water beforehand, it can throw off some of the values, I've found, so you definitely want to keep drinking!

I was not drinking water before I had my labs and my liver enzymes were always way off.  I started drinking plain water prior to labs and they were good this last time.

So be sure to drink water.
