WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!!  It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Morning LW's!!!  Had yesterday off and it was soooo nice!  If I could retire part-time I might consider it....LOL. Went with DD's and Grandkids to an Animal Park.  The kids loved it and we loved the smiles on their faces.

All that sounds good but thankfully, my Dr still like protein suppliments.  I would be lost without them and even though I eat protein based meals, and have my suppliments, my labs are ok but don't show an over-protein anytime.  I think your regain is pretty normal.  Most of us see some.  The trick is keeping it to a few not all.

Great job.

Day 2 of my new eating plan.  Eating with a pickle fork is a big change.  Two bites protein, one bite veggie.  I can have one fruit a day.  The dietician said not be concerned with tracking for the first five days, but to concentrate on protein and low carb in order to decarb.

Click shake

Slimfast Meal Replacement Bar

Roast Beef; Green Beans; Greek Yogurt

Slimfast chips (way better than Quest protein chips....IMO)

Mini quiche; banana

Cheese stick

Glad you had a good visit with your dietitian

I agree with eating more vegetables but not with the fruit. It has a ton of sugar in it.  Probably 1 serving a day would be OK. I've known people who have gained weight from using fruit in their Protein drinks every day.

Good Menu!

Happy Columbus Day! I'm off today and going with the family to an animal park.  I've missed out in everything they've done this summer so I'm excited to go.  When I'm with the kids its usually fast food  I'll try to make the best choices I can.

Topic: Successful Visit to the Surgeon

I was nervous going in to the follow up appointment with my surgeon, but it was all worth it.  They have improved their information so much since I was there 4 years ago.  I was given a booklet they now present to patients that explains everything from the beginning to 5 weeks after surgery.

The dietician is great.  She has a website devoted to bariatrics.  She suggested eating with a pickle fork, take very small bites and chew, chew, chew.  Take 2 bites of protein to 1 bite vegetable.  Drink up to 15 minutes before a meal and wait 45 minutes after a meal to eat.  No more than 6 grams of sugar in any food.

My daily protein requirement is 60 grams and should be gotten from food rather than shakes.  When I started my journey, I was told I would need to have 2 supplements for the rest of my life. Shakes should be made with water or 30-40 calorie almond milk.

The doctor wasn't shocked at my regain which is 14 lbs.  He was very encouraging that I can lose the 14 plus additional weight I want to lose.
