Unofficial pain in the tookus here, stopping by with the status on SUZY C. (hehehe, "status" sounds so stuffy, doesn't it?) As some of you already know, she went in for additional surgery Thursday for thyroid cancer. Many of us will be forever grateful that Suzy had her WLS last year and lost a 140+ pounds. This enabled the doctors to detect the cancer in time for treatment. <br><br> I've tried to reach Suzy in her hospital room and haven't been successful. If I know my girlfriend she's too busy gettin' a manicure, pedicure, facial and massage to be answering the phone. Yep, I can see it now - puffs of cotton crammed between her Barney rubble toes, cucumbers on her eyes (is that ranch dressing?) and she's snapping her fingers for more water. All the while, being fed strawberries topped with chocolate reddi-whip by a doctor who has abs of steel and eyes of blue. Guess I can't blame her for not pickin' up da phone! [blonde tilt]. <br><br> I did talk to her sister for quite awhile and even talked to Rommel, Suzy's shar-pei. It was dinner time and he was in the process of getting fed and did NOTappreciate the interruption. <b>Her sister says the surgery went great and the doctors feel confident that they were able to clean out all signs of growth. </b> Suzy spent the first night in ICU and has since been moved to a padded cell. Okay, so it's not padded. Her spirits are high (and higher) - depending on how often she presses MrHappyButton and they're not sure when she'll be released. The estimated time given by the doctor was 2 to 7 days. Oh, well that narrows it down. I'll be calling her room over the weekend and hope to update ya'll with more news soon. <br><br> Suzy, you're such a strong and positive woman who shares the gift of laughter and warmth with so many.  I know I've said this before, but I like hearing myself talk? : )~ .....you're gonna kick the cancer's butt and walk out of that hospital yawning, wondering where the h*ll the competition was. If that isn't enough to scare it away, tell 'em about your "crazy" buddy in the strait jacket with lime Jell-O on her chin - ME! Big ol' hugs to you g/f, love - Lei

Suzy what a wonderful profile you have! It is so filled with information, not only on WLS but with your cancers, Amy, and of course 'Mel. How is 'Mel doing now; is he still cancer free? Also, what was the discovery to Amy's pain, where she was bending double? I am so glad she is at goal now, and seems to be doing better as per your posts. Yours and Amy's pictures through out your weight loss are wonderful. Imagine both of you are at goal! WhooHoo! Again, your profile is wonderful and I really enjoyed reading it, clicking on all the informative sites. Best of luck to you on your upcoming cancer surgery. You are in my prayers! When is the surgery? (((HUGS)))
