A New Year - A New Me

Jan 04, 2008

Hi Family,
I haven't posted in a while.  I guess I got somewhat off track.  I skate around that statement because I haven't gained any weight  but the pounds have fluctuated up and down since my last posting.

With the New Year upon us, I'm very happy to start off the New Year almost 50 pounds lighter than I've been in several years.  I can notice my weight loss in how I feel and the way my clothes fit.  It feels good to no longer wear a size 26 bottoms.  I'm wearing a size 22 now.  I still wear some of my larger tops but I'm being told that they don't look good on me   That's criticism I can take!  LOL

I still have good restriction since my 3rd fill in October so I’m not planning to have an adjustment anytime soon.  I just need to better watch what I eat and exercise regularly.

So I'm praying that the next 6 months my weight loss will be easily noticed and I'll continue to enjoy the health benefits and energy associated with WLS.

Wishing you all the best!

5 Months Post-op

Nov 13, 2007

11-13-07

Hi All,
Yesterday, marked 5 months of being banded.  In all, things are going well.  For the last month, I've been going up and down by 1 or 2 pounds so I didn't have any substanial weight loss.  I did lose about 1.5 inches all over.  Despite not losing much this last month, I have much more energy that I did five months ago. I'm also happy to wear clothes that I haven't worn in years.  I even have some clothes that I never wore and now are too big!!!

I have an adjustment scheduled for 11/26 and I hope to post more weight loss in the following months.  I'll post some pics too!
Until next time,

Hi All,
Today, I'm wearing a size 22 dress pants.  I haven't worn a size 22 anything in years!  I should be happy right?  Well for some reason that I can't put my finger on, I'm a lil sad about my weight loss today.  I've been online all morning reading success stories looking for inspiration.

In any event, I'm very blessed and I know that!

4 Month Update

Oct 12, 2007

10-12-07
Hi All,
As of today, I celebrate 4 months of being banded.  As time goes by, I'm getting more and more excited about my health and weight loss.

I'm working out on a regular basis, some days harder than others but my food choices could be better.  Consistency is the key and I have to remind myself that in order to see results, I have to be consistent for a long period of time.

Now to the results........
Date of Surgery Wt. 318
Current Wt. 274 (lost 44 pounds)

Measurements:
Date of Surgery              Current:
Bust:-56                           Bust: - 54
Waist:-58                         Waist: - 53.5
Hips:-50                           Hips: - 47.5
Neck:-17                           Neck: - 16
Arm:-18                             Arm: - 17
Calf:-19.5                          Calf: 18

I started out wearing a size 26/28 in pants and can now wear a size 24/22.  I still can wear most of my larger tops depending on the style.  Some just look sloopy, most fit better.

In all, I'm happy with the changes and look forward to reaching my goal of becoming healthier and smaller.
Until next time,

Tight is Right!

Oct 04, 2007

Hi,
I had fill number 3 on Monday.  The doctor added 1/2 cc to my band. That brings me to a total of 2.75 in my 4cc band.  He said that I should be pretty tight and offered to take a bit out but I decided it to give this fill a try and I needed to return for an unfill, I would.

Well so far, tight is right.  I'm still in the mushy food stage and my attempt to cheat did not fly.  I tried to eat a BK breakfast sandwich and during my first swallow, I could feel some tightness.  In the trash that went.  I'll see how things go but so far, it's comforting to know that I do have restriction!
Until next time,

Hello 270s!

Oct 01, 2007

Hi Folks,
As of this morning, I'm officially a member of the 270 club.  I'm down a total of 40.5 pounds weighing in at a "haven't seen in a looooooooooong time" 277.50!!

I'm going for a fill today, probably be a slight one but with the holidays approaching, I'll take it.

Well that's about it for now.  I'll keep you all posted.  Wish me the best as I continue to on my goal of being 50 pounds lighter by my birthday in November.
Until next time,

3 Month Band-anniversary....

Sep 12, 2007

9-12-07
Today marks 3 months with the band.  I'm happy to report that I am 35 pounds lighter.  I wish it was more but realize that I really have to work out harder.  I'm doing my walking but I need to do more and make better food choices.  I'm not eating as much as I use to, but my selection of what I eat should be healthier.  I'm scheduled for an adjustment on October 1st.  This will help I'm sure.  I hate to struggling with the same 1 to 2 pounds per week and I think these adjustments will make the difference.
Until next time,

26 out of 31

Sep 04, 2007

9-4-07
Hi All,
Well it's the beginning of September and as I look back on August, I"m happy to report that out of 31 days, I managed to workout 25 days!
Each day walking at least a mile and on some days, 3 miles (3 one mile walks).  And I can really see the pay-off in how my clothes fit.  I'm hoping to step up my routine to include more strength training in September.  Today I'm 285 pounds and don't remember when was the last time I weighed 280 anything.  Lets pray that I can stay on the right track!
Until next time,

Hello 280's!!

Aug 29, 2007

8-29-07
Hi Folks,
After pushing the last month to get out of 290's and for the last 2 weeks going back and forth with 1 to 2 pounds, I've finally made it into the 280's this morning.

Now this is a story that only my OH family would understand.  This morning when I woke up, I was tired, my body was aching and I had considered taking a day off from working out.  After all, I deserved a break, I had been working out 5 to 7 days a week for the last month or so.  I finally decided to get out of the bed and in the bathroom I read an article in the O magazine.

In a nutshell it said "You need a clear vision of where you're going if you want to avoid getting disoriented by the clouds that roll in and block your view."  So with that, I got my clothes on and took my 1 mile walk before coming into work this morning.  Enjoying the cool air on my face and the lubricated feeling in my limbs, I had found joy in your journey.
Until next time,
~ANM

2nd Fill

Aug 23, 2007

8-23-07
Hi Folks,
So I had my 2nd fill yesterday.  My band now totals 2.25.  Originally the doctor had put in 1cc but that was too much so he took 1/2 out.  I so badly wanted the full cc but I couldn't even swallow the barium with that much in my band.  So I'm following the post-fill diet and will hope to have some good restriction afterwards.
Until next time,
~ANM
